Pakistan & New Zealand Super-8 Match Canceled Due To Rain: The beginning of the Super-8 round of ICC T20 World Cup 2026 was disappointing for cricket fans. The match between Pakistan and New Zealand was washed out due to rain. This match will be held in Colombo’s R. The match was to be played at the Premadasa Stadium, but due to the torrential rain that started after the toss, not a single ball could be bowled and ultimately the umpires had to take the decision to cancel the match.
Super-8 got off to a bad start with points sharing
Pakistan captain Salman Ali Aga had won the toss and decided to bat first, but no one could control nature. According to ICC rules, due to the cancellation of the match, both the teams had to be satisfied with one point each. Pakistan team will now leave from Colombo for Kandy to play the match against England. This match will be played on Tuesday i.e. 24th February. This match to be held at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium will be like do or die for Pakistan, because to keep the hopes of semi-finals alive, they will have to win against England at any cost.
New Zealand’s next clash will be with Sri Lanka
The next match of New Zealand team is to be played in Colombo only. R. The next stop of the Kiwi team will also be Colombo on Wednesday i.e. 25th February at the Premadasa Stadium. New Zealand will face host Sri Lanka on 25 February (Wednesday). It will be a big challenge for New Zealand to defeat Sri Lanka in home conditions, especially when their position in the points table has now become very delicate.
