The Supreme Court Bar Association has canceled the membership of lawyer Rakesh Kishore for his indecent conduct in the court of Chief Justice (SCBA) Bhushan Ramakrishna. Rakesh Kishore was a temporary member of SCBA since 2011.
Earlier, the Bar Council of India had suspended Rakesh Kishore from practicing law.
On October 6, in the court of CJI BR Gavai, Rakesh Kishore suddenly reached near the bench and tried to take off his shoe and throw it towards the bench, but then the security personnel caught him. When the security personnel started taking him out of the court, Rakesh Kishore raised slogans and said – India will not tolerate the insult of Sanatan Dharma. After this he was kept in custody for some time. CJI Gavai remained calm during this entire incident and did not react.
Rakesh Kishore has also given several statements on this incident. He says that he was angry with CJI Gavai’s comment on the demand to restore the 7 feet broken statue of Lord Vishnu in Khajuraho. CJI Gavai had told the petitioner demanding restoration of the idol that if you are such a big devotee of Lord Vishnu, then ask him to do something. The CJI had refused to hear the petition, calling it a matter within the jurisdiction of the ASI.
