While working in Bollywood films, we have seen that many actors fall in love with each other. Like talk about Siddharth-Kira or Ranveer-Deepika. Both these couples also fell in love on the set and got married. But everyone’s life is not as lucky as theirs. There are many actors and actresses whose love story started on the sets but ended tragically. Similar is the story of veteran actress Suraiya. Who fell in love with his first co-star on the set but this love remained incomplete.

Suraiya entered Bollywood with the 1948 film ‘Vidya’. Dev Anand was in the lead role with her in this film. Dev Anand’s charm during that time was such that anyone could fall in love with him. In such a situation, how could even Suraiya, who was new to the industry, survive? Suraiya fell in love with Dev Anand during the shooting of the film. Not only Suraiya but even Dev Anand could not save himself from the beauty of the actress and fell in love with her. Their love blossomed on the set itself but they could not be with each other.

Dev Anand had also mentioned about this love story in his autobiography. He had written that when Suraiya touched him for the first time, he realized that he loved Suraiya. But just like there are villains in Bollywood films, there are villains in real life too. Suraiyar’s grandmother became the enemy of this love. Those who did not accept that their marriage should take place in any other religion. In such a situation, Nani stopped Suraiya and Dev Anand from meeting each other.

Not only this, Dev Anand has also been forbidden from coming to Suraiya’s house. This love story ended from here. But after this Suraiya swore that she would never marry anyone else and the same happened. Suraiya did not marry Dev Anand and was never married to anyone else. Suraiya died on 31 January 2004 and she said goodbye to the world along with the memories of Dev Anand.
