PSL 11 Auction: Many big international players have suffered a big shock in the first auction held for the 11th season of Pakistan Super League (PSL). This time the league adopted a new auction model, but contrary to expectations, many star players did not find any buyers. This auction has proved to be shocking for cricket fans in many ways.

The biggest name that remained unsold was Australia’s experienced batsman Usman Khawaja. Apart from this, South African spinner Kesham Maharaj was also not bought by any team. Not only this, England’s star batsman David Malan and explosive opener Jason Roy were also left empty handed in the auction.

No bets on foreign players

Many T20 specialist players have also been ignored in the auction. England’s fast bowler Reece Topley, Australia’s young batsman Jake Fraser-McGurk and New Zealand’s all-rounder James Neesham have also not got any team. South Africa’s reliable batsman Rassie van der Dussen and experienced spinner Imran Tahir were also not included in this list.

Bangladesh and Sri Lankan stars also remained out

Bangladesh’s legendary all-rounders Shakib Al Hasan and Mehdi Hasan Miraj were also not bought by any franchise. At the same time, Sri Lankan wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Chandimal and batsman Charith Asalanka also got disappointed this time.

Pakistani players also did not get place

The surprising thing was that many domestic Pakistani players also could not become the choice of the teams. These include names like Hussain Talat, Musa Khan and Rohail Nazir.

In PSL 11, which will start from March 26 and run till May 3, it will be interesting to see how the teams maintain a balance and enter the field without these star players. This auction has made it clear that in T20 cricket, now not just the name, but the recent performance has become the biggest parameter.
