The great match between India and Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2026 will be played in Colombo on 15 February. Suryakumar Yadav will captain the Indian team in the upcoming World Cup. India and Pakistan have come face to face in the T20 World Cup a total of 7 times so far, out of which Team India has emerged victorious 6 times. Actually, Captain Suryakumar had clearly said during the Asia Cup that now there is no rivalry between India and Pakistan. Nevertheless, he described the India-Pakistan match to be held in the T20 World Cup as a match full of excitement for the fans.
At the schedule announcement event of T20 World Cup 2026, Suryakumar Yadav said, “Our group is looking good, as far as the match (India vs Pakistan) on February 15 is concerned, we had recently played matches with them in the Asia Cup. Everyone was focused only on cricket, not on anything else. As you all must have seen. It will be a great match and Indian players are always excited about the India-Pak match.”
Let us tell you that India has been placed in Group A of the World Cup. Group A includes India along with Pakistan, USA, Namibia and Netherlands. The match between India and Pakistan will be played in Colombo on 15 February. In fact, before the Champions Trophy 2025, there was an agreement between BCCI and PCB to hold India-Pak matches at neutral venues.
During the Asia Cup, captain Suryakumar Yadav had said that India has been continuously defeating Pakistan, hence there is no such thing as ‘rivalry’ left between them. Captain Suryakumar said that rivalry happens between those teams when the head-to-head record in 12 matches is like 6-6 or 7-5.
