In which suspected terrorist Harish Ali, a resident of Saharanpur, who was linked to the online module of ISIS from Moradabad, has been arrested. He is a second year BDS student. According to ATS, Harish Ali was associated with ISIS handlers and other Mujahids.
According to the allegations, the arrested terrorist was active with the aim of causing harm to the Indian government and establishing the Khilafat system by implementing Sharia law. During interrogation, it was revealed that the accused did not believe in democracy and wanted to establish the state of ISIS through Jang-e-Jihad.
Network spread on social media
According to ATS, the accused had created fake accounts on social media sites Instagram and encrypted apps like Session and Discord. Not only this, virtual private network was used for this and many groups were also formed. Through these groups, the accused was spreading the Jihadi ideology of ISIS. ISIS used to disseminate through media channels, magazines, pictures, videos, audios and speeches of the killed terrorists. Also created the propaganda group Al Ittehad Media Foundation and was in contact with ISIS handlers in India, Pakistan and other countries. He also instigated groups for suicide attacks.
ATS called it a big success
According to ATS officials, its activities were being monitored for a long time. A case has been registered against him under UAPA. His other associates are also being searched. This is being considered a big achievement to curb terrorist activities in the state. The youth were being radicalized through online means.
Along with this, this action of ATS has again exposed the network of terrorist activities in Western UP. Besides, there are questions on the activity of the intelligence department at the local level.
