BCCI has announced the updated squad for the remaining 2 matches of the ongoing T20 series against New Zealand. Tilak Verma has also been ruled out of the remaining two matches, although the board said in an official statement that Tilak Verma has resumed physical training. Shreyas Iyer will be a part of the team in his place.

BCCI said in its statement, “Tilak Verma has resumed physical training. He is continuously improving in his rehabilitation at the BCCI Center of Excellence. However, it will take more time for him to be completely match fit. He will not be available for the last two matches of the five-match T20 series against New Zealand.”

When will Tilak Verma return?

It is clear from the statement of BCCI that Tilak Verma’s recovery is going on fast and he will join the team before the T20 World Cup, which means he will not be out of the tournament.
