Suzuki: Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL) is going to set up its second manufacturing plant in India. It will be ready in the Industrial Model Township (IMT) in Kharkhauda, Haryana. The company has taken this decision to increase its production capacity. This will also strengthen the economic development of the area.
The plant will invest 1,200 crores
It will cost about Rs 1,200 crore to build the plant. It is expected to be ready by 2027. The first phase has a target of production of 750,000 units annually. Spread over 100 acres, 25 acres will be used for the manufacturing plant and trees and plants will be grown on the rest of the land. That is, it will not only create employment opportunities, but it will also be good for the environment.
Smipl’s purpose to start the plant
The aim of Smipl is to meet the increasing demand for its products in India, promote local development and provide employment to a large number of people. Several big officials of Suzuki Motor Corporation of Japan attended the foundation stone ceremony. These included Smipl’s managing director Kenichi Ummeda. Apart from this, officials like Dr. Manoj Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Sonepat and Economics Minister of Japanese Embassy Kyoko Hoko were also present on the occasion.
What are the benefits of the plant?
Once this plant starts, around 2,000 jobs will be created. Suzuki’s supply chain and customer service are expected to improve. This unit will use lean manufacturing techniques, which helps to reduce costs in business and improve efficiency. In this, the demand of suppliers and customers is made accurately and produced in the same proportion, which reduces waste.
