Addressing the nation on 21 September, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a strong appeal to the countrymen to adopt indigenous and announced a savings of Rs 2.5 lakh crore through GST and Income Tax Reforms. His message has come at a time when the US increased the H-1B visa fee and put pressure on India for trade tariffs, which is being considered indirectly from Modi.
The emphasis to adopt indigenous
PM Modi said, ‘Our real enemy is dependent on others. We have to adopt indigenous in every house and every shop. Whether small shopkeepers or customers, all proudly say-‘I sell/buy indigenous’. This is a big step towards self -reliant India.
Low tax and GST improvement will increase savings
The Prime Minister said that due to income tax exemption and improvement in GST slab, the countrymen will save more than Rs 2.5 lakh crore. He said that the middle class, youth, women and traders will directly benefit from this.
Inauguration of ‘Savings Festival’
Modi called it a savings festival and told that it will begin on the first day of Navratri. He said that the new rates of GST will make everyday essential items cheaper and it will be easier to purchase common people.
America took a hand
The Prime Minister did not directly mention America’s H-1B visa decision or trade tariff, but he said, ‘We have no big enemy in the world. Our real challenge is dependence on others, and it is our priority to defeat it. This message is being considered a strong sign in favor of India’s self -reliance and indigenous production.
New opportunities and economic speed
PM Modi said that this reform is not only to reduce prices, but to create new business and employment opportunities. This will speed up the economy of the country, increase investment and every state will become equal partner in the race for development.
