Murshidabad vioolence: Demonstrations are being organized against Waqf Amendment Act in many states of the country. In West Bengal’s Murshidabad and South 24 Parganas, the performance turned into violence. Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), State Armed Police and Rapid Action Force (RAF) have been deployed in large numbers in Jangipur, Dhulian, Suti and Shamsherganj. Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand targeted CM Mamata Banerjee for this violence.
Demand for President’s rule in Bengal
Swami Avimukteshwarananda demanded that President’s rule be imposed in West Bengal. He said, “President’s rule should be implemented to control the located in Bengal. The central government has to do politics on the situation there and get a photo.” He said, “It is still time that Hindus of Bengal should stand to protect cow mother and start killing those who come to kill Gau Mata.”
The situation is gradually becoming normal- police
The state police said that the situation is gradually becoming normal in the riot affected areas of Murshidabad, shops are opening and displaced families are coming back. On Friday and Saturday, violent protests took place in many areas including Suti, Dhulian and Jangipur in the district regarding the Waqf Amendment Act. Demonstrations soon turned into clashes, killing at least three people and injured several.
BSF visited these areas
A delegation of BSF led by Additional Director General (East) Ravi Gandhi visited Suti and Shamsherganj police station areas as well as several disturbed areas of Dhulian, where there was widespread violence. Officials said that a total of 210 people have been arrested so far in connection with the violence. The movement of vehicles on the Basanti highway in Bhangar area of South 24 Parganas district was normal, where incidents of violence against the Waqf Act on Monday.
