Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Maharaj, who reached Meerut in Uttar Pradesh, has given a big and sharp statement regarding the upcoming UP assembly elections. He announced that cow protectors will be fielded on all 403 assembly seats of UP. Not only this, their candidates will also contest elections in West Bengal. He told that a big meeting of saints has been called in Delhi on 10th and 11th March, in which further strategy will be decided.
Shankaracharya said, “Any government running with the blessings of sages and saints is not serious on the issue of cow slaughter, they will reconsider withdrawing their blessings. He clearly said that before talking about creating a Hindu nation, we will have to become Hindus, whereas in today’s situation we are not even able to become Hindus properly.”
Angry over changing the name of PMO
Shankaracharya also appeared angry when the PMO was named ‘Sevatirtha’. He said, “What kind of water is there in the Prime Minister’s residence, in which bathing will wash away sins? People will go there wearing leather shoes, meat will also be eaten, in such a situation the word ‘Tirtha’ should be removed.” He warned that there will be an agitation on this issue and if necessary, the court will also be approached.
Taking a jibe at Congress and BJP, Shankaracharya described the situation of both as husband and wife. He said that whatever BJP does, Congress calls it bad and whatever Congress does, BJP out of compulsion calls it good.
Government cornered on infiltration issue
Raising questions on the issue of infiltrators, he said, “When infiltrators were allowed to come while being in government for 20 years, then why are votes being sought in the name of throwing them out.” He accused the public of considering themselves fools. While calling the SIR correct, he said that if the voter list is being refined then what is the point of objection in it.
Mosque in the name of Babar is not acceptable
On the question related to the construction of Babri Masjid in Murshidabad, he said that having a mosque in the name of Babar is not acceptable.
