Police have found an ISIS flag from the attackers’ car, after which the father and son of Pakistani origin are suspected to be linked to IS. Doubt on Pakistani father and son
The attackers have been identified as 50-year-old Sajid Akram and his 24-year-old son Navid Akram. There have been reports of both of them being Pakistani citizens. Sajid Akram was killed in police action, while Naveed is admitted in hospital in critical condition and is under police observation.
Navid was already on the radar
According to sources, Navid Akram had come on the radar of Australian intelligence agencies a few months ago, but was released due to lack of sufficient evidence. Now, after getting clues related to ISIS, this aspect is being thoroughly investigated again.
