The USA squad for the T20 World Cup 2026 has been announced, which also includes many players of Indian origin. Who is Shehan Jayasuriya?
Shehan Jayasuriya was born on 12 September 1991 in Colombo. The 34-year-old batting all-rounder made his debut in international cricket for Sri Lanka in 2015. He made his debut in both ODI and T20 formats in the same year.
Shehan Jayasuriya scored 195 runs and took 3 wickets in 12 ODI matches for Sri Lanka. In 18 T20 International matches, Shehan scored 241 runs and took 3 wickets. He played his last ODI for Sri Lanka in 2019 and his last T20 match in 2020.
Shehan had scored a century in the first class match played on 23 January, after which he may get a chance to play against India. He played an unbeaten inning of 100 runs in 136 balls in the Major League.
