These days T20 World Cup is being played in India. Yesterday i.e. on March 5, the semi-final match between India and England was played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In this tremendous match, the Indian team won by 7 runs and made its place in the final. The final match will be played on March 8 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Railways has announced to run special trains for the final.
Special trains will run from Mumbai to Ahmedabad
In view of the T20 World Cup final to be held in Ahmedabad, Western Railways has made special preparations to handle the increasing crowd of passengers. Under this, a decision has been taken to run superfast special trains between Mumbai Central and Ahmedabad. These trains will run on special fare. Due to which fans and passengers will be able to get additional travel option.
Rajiv Singhal, member of Divisional Railway User Consultative Committee of Western Railway, said that he had met DRM Pankaj Singh in this regard and made a request. After this, it has been decided to run two special trains from Mumbai to Ahmedabad on Saturday night and two trains on Sunday morning.
Increased number of fans will reach Ahmedabad
In view of the big match to be held in Ahmedabad, a large number of cricket fans are expected to reach there. Keeping this in mind, Western Railways has decided to run two extra superfast special trains between Mumbai Central and Ahmedabad. According to Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railways, these additional trains will help in handling the increasing crowd and will provide relief to the passengers on the busy routes.

Complete details of special trains
Train No. 09027/09028 Mumbai Central–Ahmedabad AC Superfast Tejas Special
This Tejas special train will depart from Mumbai Central at 11:45 pm on Saturday, March 7, 2026 and will reach Ahmedabad at 8:30 am the next day. In return, train number 09028 will depart from Ahmedabad at 3:00 am on Monday, March 9, 2026 and reach Mumbai Central at 11:15 am. During the journey, this train will stop at Borivali, Vapi, Surat, Bharuch and Vadodara stations. For the convenience of passengers, premium coaches like First AC, AC 2-tier and AC 3-tier will be installed in it.
Train No. 09021/09022 Mumbai Central–Ahmedabad AC Superfast Special
The second special train will depart from Mumbai Central at 6:20 am on March 8, 2026 and reach Ahmedabad at 12:40 pm. On the same day, in return, train number 09022 will leave from Ahmedabad at 3:10 pm and will reach Mumbai Central at 9:45 pm. This train will also stop at Borivali, Vapi, Surat, Bharuch and Vadodara stations. To provide better experience to the passengers, modern coaches like Vistadome, Executive Anubhuti, Executive Chair Car and AC Chair Car have been included in it.
When will booking start?
Booking for train numbers 09027 and 09028 has started from 6 March 2026. So, booking for train numbers 09021 and 09022 will start from March 7, 2026. Passengers can book their tickets at all PRS counters or through the IRCTC website.
