The four-day military confrontation between India and Pakistan in May 2025 still remains a topic of discussion. In this conflict, Operation Sindoor launched by India has caused huge damage to many important military bases of Pakistan. The most discussed among these was Noor Khan Airbase located in Rawalpindi, the special thing is that Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar publicly admitted for the first time that Noor Khan Airbase was damaged in Indian drone attacks. After this confession, the question arose in the minds of people that who was Noor Khan, in whose name such an important airbase of Pakistan is built. So let us know who was Noor Khan, in whose name the Pakistani airbase was destroyed by India in Operation Sindoor.

Who was Noor Khan?

Noor Khan was not just an army officer, but he was one of the few. Who have played an important role in the air forces of both India and Pakistan. His life started with the Indian Air Force and has reached the post of Chief of the Pakistan Air Force. Interestingly, in the last years of his life, he openly criticized many military policies of Pakistan. Noor Khan was born in 1923. When India and Pakistan were a single country, he studied at the Royal Indian Military College and was commissioned as a pilot officer in the undivided Indian Air Force (IAF) on 6 January 1941.

At that time, there were very few Indian officers in the Indian Air Force, but Noor Khan was considered a very talented and courageous pilot from the beginning. He took flying training on aircraft such as Westland Wapiti, Hawker Hart and Hawker Audax. During World War II he flew many risky missions on the India-Burma front. His fellow officers say that Noor Khan had a passion for flying and he never shied away from flying the most difficult aircraft.

Selection of Pakistan Air Force after partition

At the time of partition of the country in 1947, Noor Khan had a choice. India or Pakistan, his native region had gone to Pakistan and many of his fellow officers were also going to Pakistan Air Force, so he chose Pakistan Air Force (PAF). His career in Pakistan progressed rapidly and in 1965 he became Air Chief Marshal of Pakistan Air Force. Noor Khan was the chief of Pakistan Air Force during the 1965 war. Later he himself admitted that this war was started by Pakistan and the country was not fully prepared for it. However, he also admitted that in post-war Pakistan, propaganda was promoted instead of truth and an impartial review was never conducted. According to him, if the right lessons had been learned from that war, a major defeat like 1971 could have been avoided.

Noor Khan became a critic of Pakistan’s policies

In the last years of his life, Noor Khan became a major critic of Pakistan’s military thinking. He openly said that the 1965 war was Pakistan’s fault, India had only acted in self-defence. India-Pakistan war was not a war of any religion. He also said that the root of Pakistan’s problems lies in its military thinking and repeatedly adopting the path of war.

Noor Khan Airbase and Operation Vermillion

The airbase named after Noor Khan is a major military base of Pakistan. The Indian Air Force targeted this airbase during Operation Sindoor in May 2025. Now Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has also accepted that this airbase was damaged in Indian drone attacks and the soldiers deployed there were injured. It is, in a way, a paradox of history that decades later, the airbase named after a person who once served the country in the Indian Air Force was targeted by India in a military action.

General gd bakshi on 1965 indo-pak war: Major General Gagandeep Bakshi (GD Bakshi) is a retired officer of the Indian Army. He has served in the Jammu and Kashmir Rifles of the Indian Army. Bakshi has also fought against Pakistan in 1971 and 1999 Kargil. He is known for his sharp and clear statements, but in the war against Pakistan, he had tears in his eyes after remembering his elder brother.

Major General GD Bakshi gave an interview on YouTube channel Curly Tales. During this, he mentioned his elder brother in the 1965 war against Pakistan. He said, ‘I had an elder brother. He was a very long, beautiful, smart and a cricketer. He was a very popular person in the city. He joined the Indian Army and became a captain rank officer and he was martyred in the 1965 war.

Landmine bursting were broken by the body

General Bakshi said, ‘My brother’s body flew into pieces because a landmine was torn. M-16 mine, which is the most dangerous. He jumps to the chest and keeps the human body completely tears. He said, ‘My brother’s body was also small pieces. People gathered pieces of their body and performed the last rites in the front line itself and we came to the house of a bronze urn, in which my brother had ashes.

Tears came in Bakshi’s eyes

He said, ‘An soldier of his platoon came to his ashes. He comforted the whole family that he fought very bravely, but then I took him to the shore and asked what happened, then he said that he said that do not tell this to his parents. Due to the bursting of the mine, his body was ragged. We had collected pieces of his body.

You have to take revenge … GD Bakshi

Speaking, Major General GD Bakshi became emotional and tears came in his eyes. He further said, ‘That soldier told me that’ Sir you cannot cry. You have to take revenge. I still remember his alphabet.

Bollywood at box office during operation sindoor: A terrorist attack was carried out on 22 April in Pahalgam on behalf of Pakistan. In response to this, India destroyed the 9 terrorist bases present in Pakistan by running Operation Sindoor on the night of 7 May. Since then, tension between the two countries increased and drone and missile attachments were constantly attacked by Pakistan.

Responding to these attacks, the Indian Forces thwarted all the attacks of Pakistan. However, on 10 May 2025 after Operation Sindoor, India-Pakistan announced a ceasefire by mutual consent, but by the evening, Pakistan violated the ceasefire again.

While the theatrical release of Rajkummar Rao’s film Bhumi Lap Luke Maaf was stopped, the release date of Aamir Khan’s film Stars Zameen was moved forward. Not only this, late night shows of theaters of many cities adjacent to the border were also closed. Due to which the rumor also spread that cinema halls may be closed in the coming days.

However, despite this, the audience gathered to see Ajay Devgan’s Red 2 in Cinemahal and after Operation Sindoor, the film’s earnings started increasing continuously. In such a situation, if the question is arising in your mind that there was a difference in the last 3 wars between India Pakistan on the box office collection of Bollywood? And did films flop at the box office during these wars? So the answer is hidden in these figures. Know here

1965 Indo-Pak War and Bollywood Box Office

This war between India and Pakistan was fought between August 1965 and September 1965. We checked which films were released in Bollywood during this period. A few days before the war began, the film time was released on 28 July. Which proved to be the biggest hit of that year and continued in the cinema hall when the war was going on. After this, the family was released in September which was a hit.

The history of the last 60 years will surprise you"/>

1971 Indo-Pak War and Bollywood Box Office

This war between India Pakistan took place in December 1971. During this, on December 9, Dev Anand’s Hare Rama Hare Krishna was released and it proved to be a big hit.

1999 Indo-Pak War and Bollywood Box Office

Kargil War was fought between May 1999 to July 1999. During this, Salman Khan’s film Biwi No. 1 was released. It was released on May 28 and proved to be a big hit. Earlier, the victory of love was released on May 7 and was in Cinemahal during that time when Kargil War was being fought. However, this film proved to be a hit, not a flop. Apart from this, Amitabh Bachchan flopped at the box office but has become the biggest hit on TV till date.

After this, in June, only Tum, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Mana and Hasina Mann Gayegi were released and the three films were not only liked by the audience but they were able to collect well at the box office.

How is Bollywood’s condition during Operation Sindoor

A few days before Operation Sindoor, Ajay Devgan’s film Red 2 was released. The film had already proved to be a hit of India-Pak tension, but after Operation Sindoor, the film has increased everyday earnings and the film has so far grossed around 150 crores worldwide.
