Language dispute in Maharashtra is now seen taking a new turn. Now reservation is being demanded for Marathi speaking people. MLAs of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) demanded the Maharashtra government on Friday (July 11) that 20 percent of the houses should be reserved for Marathi speaking people in Mumbai buildings.

Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Ambadas Danve and party leader Milind Narvekar submitted a letter in this regard to Shiv Sena Shinde Gut Minister Shambhuraj Desai.

Milind Narvekar has shared this letter on X. Posting, he said, “We demand that 20 percent houses should be reserved for Marathi Manush in Mumbai in every building.” According to PTI, earlier on Thursday (July 10), he asked in the Legislative Council whether any social organization had demanded a 50 percent house reserved for Marathi, and whether the government has taken any decision on it.

Responding to this, Deputy Chief Minister and Housing Minister Eknath Shinde told in written reply that his department has not received any letter in this regard.

Minister Shambhraj Desai took a sarcasm
At the same time, Mining Minister Shambhuraj Desai, who is representing him on his behalf, said that even when the Maha Vikas Aghadi government under the leadership of Uddhav Thackeray was in power, no such law was brought. Desai said sarcastically, “You did not take this step at that time, and it is now on record. Your feeling of love towards Marathi Manush is fake and hollow.” This political debate has once again intensified the discussion about the rights of local people in Marathi Asmita and Mumbai.
