Due to which the journey of regular passengers has become easier. The purpose of the new system is to save time, improve traffic flow and make highway travel more comfortable.

Method of toll payment changed with FASTag annual pass

This year NHAI has started FASTag Annual Pass. Once activated, it can be used throughout the year. This pass is especially beneficial for those who travel on the highway daily or frequently. After taking the annual pass, there is no need to worry about toll deduction every time and the need to stop at the toll plaza also reduces.

This pass linked to FASTag is directly linked to the tag of the vehicle. Due to which automatic entry and exit takes place. With this, toll collection has become more fast and accurate. NHAI believes that this system will reduce crowding at toll plazas and the problem of traffic jams will be eliminated to a great extent.

Passengers are getting direct benefits

Regular passengers are getting the biggest benefit of FASTag Annual Pass. This system saves both time and money for those who go to office, business or travel long distances daily. Fuel expenses incurred due to frequent stops at toll plazas also reduce. Along with this, every transaction remains on track due to digital records. Due to which it becomes easy to complain about any kind of irregularity.

There will be changes in Fastag facility also

Now changes will be seen at the system level regarding Fastag facility. According to official information, National Payment Corporation of India i.e. NPCI has further strengthened the national electronic toll collection technology. Its objective is to make the toll system across the country completely digital and interconnected.

In the new technology, RFID device is installed on the windscreen of the vehicle. As soon as the vehicle passes through the toll plaza. Without stopping, the toll amount is automatically deducted from the driver’s linked bank account. This eliminates cash payment, long lines and wastage of time. The new system is being considered a big step towards making toll collection more fast, accurate and transparent.

The income tax which was deducted after the increase in salary, will now be completely saved in the pocket. This makes it much easier to make plans like EMI, investment, insurance or savings. This change is especially a relief for those people whose package is between Rs 10 to 13 lakh and who earlier had to pay heavy tax.

GST expenditure became lighter

The second major part of tax reforms was GST 2.0, which made everyday purchases more affordable. GST slab has been limited to only two categories instead of the earlier four categories. Now the duty on goods will be either 5 percent or 18 percent. Leaving aside the luxury category, tax has been reduced on about 413 items coming in the basket of the common consumer. Car buyers have also got a big benefit. Petrol cars up to 1200 cc, diesel cars up to 1500 cc and bikes up to 350 cc now attract only 18 percent GST instead of 28 percent.

Relief in toll

Changes in toll tax have made road travel very cheap. The new annual Fastag pass is available for only Rs 3000 and with this, around 200 toll plazas can be crossed. This means that the average cost of crossing a toll remains around Rs 15. For people commuting daily, this expense has become much less than before.

The wait for gratuity is over

The change in gratuity rules under the Labor Code is another relief for the employed people. Earlier, to get gratuity, 5 years of service was required. But now after working for just one year the employee will become entitled for it.
