The NIA Special Court located in Delhi’s Patiala House Court has extended the judicial custody of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack and the judicial custody of accused Tawwur Rana to 13 August 2025. Rana was produced in the court through video conferencing after Rana’s previous judicial custody ended, after which the court pronounced the decision. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is investigating serious allegations of terrorism against Rana.

Tahawwur Rana News: The mastermind of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, Tehwwur Rana is currently in the custody of the country’s largest investigating agency NIA. The NIA is constantly questioning him and is engaged in gathering many other information including its masters sitting in Pakistan. Tahwwur Rana was sent on remand of 18 days by the Special NIA Court of Patiala House. The Special Court of NIA, while ordering, said that this conspiracy is not limited to India only, but its wires are connected to international level.

‘Many cities including Delhi targeted’

The court said, “It is necessary to introduce Tahwwur Rana to the evidence that is associated with his rake. It is necessary to face with witnesses and other evidence. The national capital Delhi including many cities of India was targeted. Witnesses, forensic and documentary evidence is necessary.”

Necessary interrogation of Tehwavur- Court

The court said, “There is a need to interrogate Tahwwur deeply. It is a very deep conspiracy, so to get to the bottom of this case, there is a frequent interrogation in custody.” The court has admitted that the matter is related to India’s security and conflict, so the investigating agency should get a full and fair opportunity so that it can present all the facts before the court. “

Investigation agencies started questioning him from Friday (11 April 2025) after extraditing Tahwwur Rana from America and brought to India. He is not supporting NI in investigation. Tehwavur Rana did not remember again and again as he kept answering. Rana is an important link for India’s investigative agencies, as it is believed to have been involved in the conspiracy of Mumbai attacks with Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba and ISI.

26/11 Mumbai Attack: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) argued in a Delhi court on 10 April that it suspected that Tahwwur Rana had hatched a terrorist conspiracy like 26/11 Mumbai attacks to target several other Indian cities. The NIA claimed this to Special Judge Chander Jeet Singh, who sent Rana to 18 days NIA custody.

In his order, the judge directed the NIA to conduct a medical examination of Rana every 24 hours and let him meet his lawyer every other day. The judge allowed Rana to use only one ‘soft-tip’ pen and meet his lawyer from a certain distance in the presence of NIA officials.

NIA will take Rana to different places

During the arguments, the NIA stated that Rana’s custody is required to connect all the dimensions of the conspiracy together and would have to be taken to various places to re -learn about the events that happened 17 years ago. The source said that the NIA told the judge that “his (Rana) long detention is considered necessary for extensive inquiries, which aims to highlight the deep layers of the conspiracy.” We suspect that there was a conspiracy to carry out the tricks used in the Mumbai attacks in other cities as well, after which investigators investigated whether a similar conspiracy was hatched elsewhere.

Rana will be in NIA custody for 18 days

The source said that officers can take Rana to prominent places to connect important evidence together and re -know the events of 17 years ago, which will help him to get a dramatic conversion of the crime site and get intensive information about the big terrorist network. The DIG of NIA, one IG and five DCP of Delhi Police were present in the court premises during the appearance of Rana. Rana will remain in NIA custody for 18 days, during which the agency is planning to ‘interrogate him in detail to highlight the entire conspiracy behind the deadly attacks of 2008. 166 people were killed and more than 238 people were injured in these attacks.
