National Law Day is celebrated in India on 26 November. However, now it is being celebrated as Constitution Day. Every year this day reminds of the adoption of the Constitution of India. On this day, different programs are organized in government departments and schools across the country.

Why is Constitution Day celebrated?

It is noteworthy that on 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India formally adopted the Constitution of India. However, it was implemented on 26 January 1950. The idea of celebrating November 26 as the anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution came when a proposal was made to assess the state of law in the country.

This decision was taken in 1979

Former MP LM Singhvi, while proposing in the Supreme Court Bar Association, said that November 26 should be celebrated as National Law Day. The Supreme Court Bar Association gave the green signal to LM Singhvi’s proposal in 1979. After this, this day continued to be celebrated as National Law Day till 2015.

PM Modi had made this change

In October 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that 26 November will now be celebrated as Constitution Day in the memory of the creator of the Constitution, Dr. BR Ambedkar. In this way, on 19 November, a gazette notification was issued by the Central Government, in which 26 November was declared as Constitution Day. Since then this day is celebrated as Constitution Day. However, it is also known as National Law Day.

Why is this different from January 26?

Let us tell you that both the dates of 26 January and 26 November are related to the Constitution, but our Constitution was prepared on 26 January 1949 and it was assimilated by the Constituent Assembly, whereas the Constitution came into force in the country on 26 January 1950. In this way, 26 January came to be known as Republic Day and 26 November as National Law Day. According to a report, it took 2 years, 11 months and 18 days to create the Indian Constitution. That day was 26 November 1949, when the Constitution was completely ready.

Republic Day is celebrated with great pomp in India every year on 26 January. This day is special because on this day the Constitution of the country came into force in 1950. which gave India a sovereignhad formed a democratic republic, but do you know that our constitution was prepared only on 26 January 1949 yes Went Was, Then This 2 month Why was it implemented only on 26th January? In such a situation, today let us tell you the reason behind why the Constitution of India was implemented only on 26 January.

Why was the country’s Constitution implemented only on 26 January?

In fact, 26 January 1930 was a very special day in the history of the Indian independence movement. At that time in 1929 Lahore session, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru The Congress, under the chairmanship of Dominion If statehood is not given, India will declare itself complete independence. After this, on 26 January 1930, Independence Day was celebrated for the first time in the entire country and the tricolor was hoisted everywhere. This day came to be considered a symbol of the fight for freedom for Indians. Therefore, when India became independent in 1947 and the process of making the Indian Constitution was completed, India’s Constitution It was decided to implement the date of 26th January, so that 26th January Day Always remain intact in history.

when india became Ganraj

On January 26, 1950, India’s first President Dr. Rajendra Prasad hoisted the flag with a 21-gun salute and declared India a full-fledged republic. At this moment the system of public rule i.e. Gana was established in India. Which means that the country is not run by a king or emperor but by a government elected by the people.

What is the importance of Republic Day?

Republic Day is celebrated every year on 26 January. nationwide It is celebrated as the festival of democracy. This Day On duty in Delhi gorgeous parade, tableaus and the three armies Power Demonstrations, cultural programs and a 21-gun salute are held. Whereas on 26 January Day This event is considered a symbol of India’s unity, diversity and strength.
