Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) leaders met Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar on Saturday after the 36-day long agitation at Jantar Mantar ended over the NEET paper leak issue. This meeting took place after the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and the government accepting all the major demands of the movement. After the meeting, CJP leaders said that even though the movement has ended, the legal battle will continue in the case of alleged police use of force on students on July 20.

Saurav Das said – action will be taken against every officer who uses force on students

Talking to the media after the meeting, CJP spokesperson Saurav Das said that there was no fixed agenda for this meeting. The conversation took place in a very cordial atmosphere, in which many senior officers including the Special Commissioner of Delhi Police were also present. He said that the party has clearly told the Delhi Police that legal action will be taken against every police officer and Rapid Action Force (RAF) soldier who allegedly used excessive force on the students during the July 20 march.

Also read: From CAA to farmers’ movement… first resignation in 12 years of Modi government, Dharmendra Pradhan had to leave the post after huge uproar.

Saurav Das said, “Legal process will soon be initiated against the policemen and RAF personnel who were seen in the videos and pictures hitting people on the head and using excessive force. Many students had serious injuries on their heads and hands.”

The fight will go from FIR to court

CJP spokesperson said that the party has also started a website for this. During legal action, not only complaints will be lodged, but a demand will also be made to lodge FIR against the concerned officials. He said that if necessary, the party will also approach the court. He said that the officers who failed to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of the people would be brought under the ambit of the law.

Ashutosh Ranka said- also accepts the cooperation of the police

CJP leader Ashutosh Ranka said that the meeting with Delhi Police was positive. He said that all the incidents of the last few days were discussed in detail. He said, “Whatever happened on July 20 was very unfortunate. But we also accept that there was continuous cooperation from the Delhi Police. We have also appreciated that cooperation.”

Ranka said that he hopes this will be a new beginning. He told that the government has accepted all the demands of the party. These also include the assurance of withdrawing the FIR registered against the protesters and not registering any new case further. He said, “All’s well that ends well. We wholeheartedly thank the youth of the country, with whose support this movement reached its peak.”

The movement ended after 36 days

The Cockroach Janata Party decided to end its 36-day long agitation after the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and the government accepting all the other demands. The party announced that the government has also agreed to their remaining demands. These included demands for compensation to the families of students who allegedly committed suicide after the NEET paper leak controversy and withdrawal of all FIRs registered against the protesters during the agitation.
