Thursday (July 16) brought big news for lakhs of students who dream of becoming doctors. National Testing Agency declared the results of NEET-UG 2026, the country’s biggest medical entrance examination. In this exam, Aryan Gupta, resident of Ludhiana, secured first position in the entire country. Along with him, Panshul Bansal of Haryana also stood jointly at first position. Both the students created history by scoring 715 marks out of 720.

As soon as NTA announced the results of NEET exam, there was a wave of happiness in Aryan Gupta’s house and in Ludhiana. In the video going viral on social media, Aryan’s family members and acquaintances are seen celebrating. Not only his family but the entire city is feeling proud of this wonderful success of Aryan.

This journey was not easy for Aryan

Aryan did not get this success overnight. There is a lot of hard work and struggle behind this. Let us tell you that this year the NEET exam was surrounded by many controversies. Earlier this examination was held on May 12, but it was canceled due to suspicion of paper leak and other controversies.

Aryan tells that when the news of cancellation of the exam came, he was broken and cried a lot. He felt that all his hard work had gone in vain, but he did not give up. His elder brother Aditya, who is doing MBBS, gave him courage. After this, Aryan picked up the books again and started studying twice as hard for the re-test to be held on 21st June.

Used to study 16 to 17 hours daily

On his success, Aryan told that he used to study for about 16 to 17 hours every day. However, he did not limit himself to books. Whenever he got tired of studying continuously, he used to take a break. Aryan used to use social media to calm his mind. Used to watch movies on TV and spend time with family.

How was Aryan’s education?

Aryan did his schooling from Sacred Heart Convent School, Ludhiana. He remained ahead not only in studies but also in games. He has also been a state level table tennis player. He had also secured 98.4 percent marks in class 12th.

Aryan comes from a family of doctors

Aryan has medicine in his blood. His father Dr. Sachin Gupta is an anesthetist and his mother Dr. Reenu Gupta is a gynecologist. His elder brother had secured All India 54th rank in NEET exam last year. Aryan wants to become an oncologist. In fact, when he was just three years old, his grandmother died due to cancer. For this reason he wants to become a cancer doctor.

Important figures of NEET-UG 2026

• This year around 20 lakh students took the NEET exam.
• Out of these, a total of 11.21 lakh students passed.
• More than 58 percent of those who passed were girls.
• Apart from Aryan and Panshul, 19 students scored more than 700 marks.
• Goyal got third rank in the country in celebration of Rajasthan
• Ayush Bhalotia of Bihar stood fourth
• Maharashtra’s Shravani Krishna Kudale secured fifth rank
