8th Pay Commission: A big news is coming for lakhs of central employees and pensioners across the country. Actually, the 8th Pay Commission has extended the deadline for submitting memorandum for employee organizations to June 15, 2026.

Whereas earlier the deadline for online submission of this memorandum was fixed as May 31, 2026. This has now been officially extended, meaning that the employees have been given another chance to express their views. Under the new rule, employee unions and pensioners associations can submit their suggestions and demands to the commission by June 15.

This is one last chance

According to the Commission, this will be the last chance for the employee unions to present their demands before the Commission because after this the deadline will not be extended further. All applications and memoranda will have to be submitted in the prescribed format only by visiting the official portal of the 8th Pay Commission, 8cpc.gov.in. Offline posts or hand written copies or memorandums sent in PDF format will not be accepted.

Next meetings of the commission

Along with the process of submitting the memorandum, the Commission is visiting different states and sitting with employee unions, listening to their demands and talking to them. Meetings are going to be held at many places in the coming days:-

Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh- The meeting will be held from 1 to 4 June (Srinagar/Jammu) and 8 June in Ladakh.

Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow)- 22-23 June

Odisha (Bhubaneswar)- 6-7 July

West Bengal (Kolkata)- 9-10 July

Major demands of employees in memorandum

• Increasing basic salary from Rs 18000 to Rs 69000 per month.
• Increasing the fitment factor from 2.57 to 3.83 as per 7th Pay Commission.
• Increasing the increment received every year from 3% to 6%.
• Restoring the old pension scheme in place of NPS.
