Actually, Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa in Delhi Government held a press conference on Tuesday (December 16, 2025). He said that our government in Delhi is fully engaged in improving the average AQI every month. While apologizing to the people of Delhi, I just want to say that it is absolutely impossible for any government to clean up all the pollution in 9 to 10 months, but I want to tell you, the people of Delhi, that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has been dishonest and deceitful, we have improved it and reduced the AQI and if we keep reducing it in the same manner, then only it will be possible to provide clean air to Delhi.

Targeted at Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi

During this, Delhi Government Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa targeted Congress MPs Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, citing the previous governments of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress. He said, ‘These diseases in Delhi were caused by the Aam Aadmi Party for the last 10-11 years and the Congress government for the first 15 years.’

He said, ‘Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are currently talking about wearing masks, so I want to ask them where were these masks of yours last year, when there was more pollution in Delhi.’ He further said, ‘Last year there were dirtier days than this. Last year, even on this day, AQI was 380, but neither Rahul Gandhi nor Priyanka Gandhi was seen anywhere, because these people were associated with Aam Aadmi Party at that time and today they have remembered everything.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, ‘Of course there is pollution in Delhi, it is harming the health of children, but this is given by the Aam Aadmi Party, which we are trying to fix.’ He said that like a doctor, we are taking action against him every day, but Aam Aadmi Party has given the task of making people sick.

An FIR has been registered against Noorjahan, living in Rampur, UP, and her two sons working abroad for giving wrong information in the SIR form, regarding which Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh met the victim’s family. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is going to start a big campaign in Uttar Pradesh for voter rights and protection of the Constitution. Party’s UP in-charge and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh announced in a press conference in Bareilly that a 6-day padyatra will be taken out from Rampur to Amroha from December 21 to 26. This yatra will cover three districts Rampur, Moradabad and Amroha.

Sanjay Singh told that during the Padyatra, there will be 4 big public meetings in Rampur, Moradabad, Pakwara and Amroha. Welcome and dialogue programs will also be organized at different places along the route of the yatra. He said that this is not just a yatra, it is a campaign to make the public aware.

Conspiracy to cut two crore votes

Sanjay Singh alleged that voter list tampering is being done on a large scale in UP. He said that 70-70 thousand votes were deducted in an assembly in Bihar. Now preparations are on to remove about two crore votes in UP. We have strong evidence of irregularities in Lucknow, Jaunpur and Rampur. According to him, genuine voters are being excluded in the name of death, permanent shifted and untraceable categories.

Allegation of removing real voters by calling them Bangladeshi

Sanjay Singh mentioned the incident in Lucknow in which sanitation workers who had come from Assam were issued notices claiming they were Bangladeshis, despite having all the documents. He said that even in Dulaipur of Jaunpur, votes are being cast by calling people who have come to work from Varanasi as foreigners. This is open robbery of votes.

He said that BJP is trying to change the electoral mathematics by removing real voters in the name of SIR process.

‘The country will be run by the Constitution, not by the orders of any Baba’

While speaking on the other big issue of the Padyatra, Sanjay Singh made a scathing attack on the Central and UP governments to save the Constitution. He said that today the right to equality and secularism is under attack. BJP is running a fake Baba debate, which is a conspiracy to divide the country. The country will run on the Constitution of Baba Saheb Ambedkar, not on the orders of any Baba.

He said that if everyone starts demanding a separate nation – Sikh nation, Tamil nation, Naga nation, then the country will be divided into princely states.

Bulldozer targets politics

On the recent bulldozer action in Bareilly, Sanjay Singh said that BJP is using it only for show and to divide the society. He alleged that a 140 year old temple in Delhi, 300 temples in Kashi and many houses and temples in Ayodhya were demolished with bulldozers. Slums of sanitation workers were demolished in Sultanpur. Bulldozer is not the constitution.

He said that the Supreme Court has also made it clear that bulldozers cannot be misused.

Politics in the name of Bangladeshi infiltration?

Sanjay Singh claimed that a total of 315 people were found in the SIR investigation of Bihar, out of which 78 were Muslims and the rest were Hindus from Nepal. He said that 80 lakh votes were deleted. Will you keep everyone in the detention center? This is a way to divert attention from all the issues.

Sanjay Singh said that this Padyatra, which will run from 21st to 26th December, will tell people in every district how in the name of SIR process, voters are being deprived of their rights and the Constitution is being weakened.

Politics in Punjab has intensified after the statement of Navjot Kaur Sidhu, wife of former MP and senior Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu. ‘Chair hunger caused great harm to Punjab’

Dhaliwal further said, “Navjot Kaur Sidhu has also said that five people are claiming to become the Chief Minister in Punjab. The condition of the party is so bad, there is so much division that nothing will be achieved in the party. His eyes are only on the chair. They just want to get a chair somehow. The by-elections for 12 wards of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) concluded peacefully on Sunday (November 30) with 38.51 percent voting recorded till 5.30 pm. In the MCD elections of 2022, 50.47 percent voting was recorded. The State Election Commission said that voting was completely peaceful and no untoward incident or uproar was reported from any polling station. The highest turnout of 55.93 percent was recorded in Chandni Mahal.

Along with this, officials also said that voting was not disrupted due to technical fault in EVM. Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accused the BJP of ‘mishandling’, saying a former police station in-charge was campaigning for the BJP candidate in Dakshinpuri ward. However, BJP hit back saying that AAP has already prepared an excuse for its defeat.

BJP is confident of good performance – Virendra Sachdeva

BJP’s Delhi unit president Virendra Sachdeva, citing the response received from party workers during his visit to seven wards, said that the party is confident of a good performance. Delhi Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh thanked citizens for voting and expressed confidence that the BJP would emerge as a “clear and decisive winner”.

What allegations did Saurabh Bhardwaj make?

Meanwhile, AAP’s Delhi unit chief Saurabh Bhardwaj alleged that a former police station in-charge was “campaigning for the BJP candidate in plain clothes”. He accused the Election Commission of inaction. Sachdeva issued a statement rejecting the allegations and accused AAP of trying to conduct “fake voting”. Voting started at 7.30 in the morning.

What is the percentage of voting in 12 wards?

The Election Commission said that during the voting held in total 12 wards, the highest turnout of 55.93 percent was recorded in Chandni Mahal. The lowest turnout was recorded in Greater Kailash. Only 26.76 percent voters voted there. Voting was 44.50 percent in Mundka, 36.53 percent in Shalimar Bagh-B, 33.82 percent in Ashok Vihar and 35.65 percent in Chandni Chowk.

29.76 percent voting was recorded in Dwarka-B, 37.20 percent in Dichaun Kalan, 42.76 percent in Naraina, 44.40 percent in Sangam Vihar-A and 40.23 percent in Dakshin Puri. 36.47 percent voting took place in Vinod Nagar.

CM Rekha Gupta also voted

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had appealed to the citizens to vote in large numbers. The Chief Minister described voting as a democratic duty, which strengthens governance and development. Gupta cast his vote along with his family at his local polling booth. The Chief Minister said that by voting he fulfilled his “democratic responsibility”.

“Voting is an integral part of the sacred process of our democracy and our active participation in it further strengthens democratic values,” he said in a post on social media platform ‘X’.

Results will come on December 3

Counting of votes will take place on December 3. The results are expected to indicate where the voters of the national capital are headed after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s big victory in the assembly elections held at the beginning of the year. The State Election Commission had set up a total of 580 booths at 143 polling stations for the by-election. 2,320 Election Commission personnel, 580 home guards and 2,265 other employees were deployed for fair and free voting. Along with this, 13 companies of Central Armed Police Forces were also deployed.

51 candidates including 26 women were in the fray in the MCD by-election. BJP had fielded eight women candidates in the election contest. At the same time, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had given tickets to six women candidates and Congress to five. In the assembly elections, BJP returned to power in Delhi after 27 years by winning 48 out of 70 seats and ousted AAP from power.

Voting was held on Sunday (November 30) in the by-election 2025 for 12 wards of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). Talking about voting percentage, a total of 38.51% (provisional) voting was recorded till 5:30 pm. Voting was completely peaceful and there was no news of any kind of disorder or uproar anywhere. Many leaders including CM Rekha Gupta cast their votes

Many BJP leaders including Chief Minister Rekha Gupta voted in the by-elections held in 12 wards of Delhi Municipal Corporation. West Delhi MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat and BJP candidate from Dwarka-B ward Manisha Rajpal Sehrawat went to the polling booth and cast their votes. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta along with her husband Manish Gupta and other family members went to a polling booth in Shalimar Bagh area on Sunday and cast her vote.

The fate of the candidates will be decided on December 3.

In this election, BJP has fielded maximum 8 women candidates, followed by AAP 6 and Congress 5 women. In the assembly elections held earlier this year, BJP performed brilliantly and formed the government under the leadership of Rekha Gupta. After the assembly elections, there is a contest between Aam Aadmi Party, BJP and Congress in the MCD by-elections. The fate of all the candidates will be decided on 3rd December.

Counting of votes for the by-election on Tarn Taran assembly seat in Punjab will take place on Friday. The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) are eyeing this seat.

Under the by-election, 60.95 percent voters exercised their franchise in the voting held on Tuesday on this seat. Officials said on Thursday that security arrangements have been tightened at the counting center established at the ‘International College of Nursing’ located in Piddi.

Election officer Gurmeet Singh said that the counting of votes, which will start at 8 am, will be completed in 16 rounds. This is the seventh assembly by-election in Punjab since March 2022 and the ruling AAP had won five out of the last six by-elections.

This by-election is being seen as a litmus test for Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP leaders. AAP has fielded three-time MLA from Tarn Tarn, Harmeet Singh Sandhu, who had joined the party in July.

There is also a lot at stake for the Congress party, which has fielded its Tarn Taran district unit chief Karanbir Singh Burj as its candidate for this by-election.

During the election campaign, Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Wadding faced criticism from rivals for his alleged ‘casteist’ remarks against former Union Minister Buta Singh, although he later apologized.

Tarn Taran by-election: Election important for SAD also

BJP, which is trying to make inroads in the state, has fielded its Tarn Taran district president Harjeet Singh Sandhu.

In the 117-member Punjab Assembly, AAP currently has 93 MLAs, Congress 16, Shiromani Akali Dal three, BJP two and Bahujan Samaj Party one. One seat is with an independent.

Aam Aadmi Party has suffered a setback before the MCD by-elections in Delhi. Former MLA Shoaib Iqbal has resigned from AAP. Shoaib’s son Aale Iqbal is the current MLA from AAP. Sources related to Shoaib Iqbal say that in the corporation by-election, ‘AAP’ announced the candidate for the area seat without the consent of Aale Iqbal and Shoaib Iqbal, due to which Shoaib Iqbal got angry and decided to resign. He said that he was resigning after being fed up with the party’s policies.

Expressing his displeasure, Shoaib Iqbal said, “Aam Aadmi Party could not live up to the expectations of the people of Delhi and being fed up with the policies of the party, I am resigning.” Now he has no connection with Aam Aadmi Party and will never have any connection with AAP.

Shoaib Iqbal was MLA from Matia Mahal 7 times.

Shoaib Iqbal of Matia Mahal assembly constituency of the national capital Delhi has been MLA seven times. In the 2020 assembly elections, Shoaib had won the election from Matia Mahal on AAP ticket, but for the 2025 elections, the party had given ticket to his son Aale Iqbal and he also won. Shoaib Iqbal says that the party did not respect the sentiments of the local workers while announcing the candidates for the MCD by-election.

AAP released list of 12 candidates

AAP has released the list of candidates for the upcoming MCD by-election in Delhi on Sunday (09 November). The party has announced the names of 12 candidates from different wards. Let us tell you that by-elections are to be held on 12 seats of Delhi Municipal Corporation on 30 November 2025. The process of nomination of candidates has started from 3rd November. The last date for filing nomination is December 10. The results of the by-election will be declared on December 3.
