Bollywood actor Abhimanyu Singh has made a strong mark in Indutri with his acting and negative roles. His character ‘Buka Reddy’ in the film ‘Rakta Charitra’ was greatly liked by the audience. However, his journey was not easy. Recently in an interview, Abhimanyu Singh recalled the early days of his career and said that despite debuting with a superstar like Amitabh Bachchan, he did not get work for a long time.

Made debut with Amitabh Bachchan

Recently, while talking to Hindi Rush, Abhimanyu Singh said that he had no godfather or big Bollywood connection in the industry. He worked for 8 years to improve acting in theatre. Meanwhile, Manoj Bajpayee saw one of his plays and was impressed by his acting. It was Manoj who told his name to director Rakesh Omprakash Mehra, after which Rakesh Mehra took his screen test and gave him a chance in Amitabh Bachchan’s film ‘Aks’ released in 2001.

Didn’t get work even in serials

However, even after working in a big film and with a big star, his career did not shine. Abhimanyu said, ‘People think that I got my first film with Amitabh Bachchan, so everything was easy. But after the release of the film, I did not get work in TV serials either. If the film flops, then even your good acting does not matter. The success of the film matters more than the hard work and talent of the artist.

Giving the example of Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit’s superhit film ‘Tezaab’, Abhimanyu said, ‘I remember that in Patna we went to watch ‘Tezaab’ on the first day and the theater was empty. We liked the film very much. When we went to watch the film again after 10 days, the theater was housefull and tickets were being sold in black. Then I understood that films become popular gradually.
