This character was first seen in the film ‘Stree’, but due to its popularity, it gradually became an important character connecting many films of the Maddock horror-comedy universe.

Actor Abhishek Banerjee, playing this character, spoke openly to IANS about the experience of this journey and the evolution of his character. Speaking to IANS, Abhishek Banerjee said, ‘The story of the progression of Jana’s character is natural and interesting. When I first played the role of Jana in Stree, I and the team did not know that this character would play such an important role in the upcoming films.

Jana’s character remained consistent in every film
Jana’s character grew and changed with each new film, but her original identity always remained the same. Abhishek considers this a special experience in his career because any actor rarely gets a chance to play the same character in so many films. Abhishek also praised the roles of the director and the writing team in the popularity of his character. He said- ‘Amar Kaushik, Dinesh Vijan, Niren Bhatt and the entire writing team have made Jaana important in every film.’ He has ensured that whether the film is ‘Stree’, ‘Bhediya’, ‘Munjya’ or ‘Thamaa’, Jana can fit herself into every story.

The magic of ‘Jaana’ remained in ‘Thama’ also
Abhishek said- ‘Every time I play the character of Jaana, I am amazed at how the team keeps the story connected in a fun way. Jana adapts to herself everywhere and it seems as if she is a part of this universe. Abhishek also played the role of Jana in the recently released Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s film ‘Thamaa’.

Regarding this, the actor said that he is very happy that the audience still likes to watch Jana and wants to be a part of her journey. Abhishek believes that Jaana’s journey is as unpredictable and entertaining as the entire Maddock horror-comedy universe. His character in every film gives a new experience and also makes the audience laugh.
