Nair could not play much international cricket for India, but is counted among the veterans of Mumbai in domestic cricket.

Gautam Gambhir has been assistant

Gautam Gambhir became the head coach of the Indian cricket team after the 2024 T20 World Cup. Shortly thereafter, Abhishek Nair was appointed as an assistant coach in Team India. He was not yet completed even a year that became an assistant coach of Gautam Gambhir that he was expelled from the post of Assistant Coach in April 2024.
