IPL 2025: Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma played a historic innings of 141 runs against Punjab Kings on Saturday. This is the biggest personal innings by the Indian batsman of IPL history. Chasing a target of 246 runs, Hyderabad won the match by 8 wickets. Abhishek Sharma received the Player of the Match award. He said that he is grateful that there are people like Yuvraj Singh and Suryakumar Yadav around him.

Abhishek Sharma said that the atmosphere of his team was simple even when the team’s batsmen were not doing well in the last few matches. He gave credit to the captain. He said that it was very bad to lose 4 matches in a row, but there was never talk about it in our team. Abhishek said, “If you have seen me very closely, I never play behind the wicket. But I wanted to invent some shots which was very easy on this wicket. It helped both of us.

He said, “I was waiting for him. My whole team was waiting for my parents because they are lucky for SRH. We (Abhishek and Head) didn’t talk anything. It was a natural game for us. The partnership promoted me. This innings is very special, because I wanted to break the series of defeat. We did not lose four matches but we never talked about it in the team.”

Abhishek Sharma said in the press conference after the match, “I was ill for 4 days, I was feverish but I am very grateful that there were people like Yuvraj Singh and Suryakumar Yadav around me. They were constantly calling me because they knew that I could do something like this.”
