Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan is once again in the headlines, but this time the reason is not a film but a spectacular property deal. Big B had purchased 5.72 acres of land in Shahpur village of Gandhinagar district of Gujarat in 2011 for about Rs 7 crore, whose today’s value is said to be around Rs 203 crore. That means 30 times return in about 15 years. The major reason for this boom is the nearby GIFT City, where big offices, banks and international companies are coming up. This has affected the prices of surrounding land. Now Abhishek Bachchan has made a deal with Lotus Developers for commercial and residential projects on this land. The land will remain with the Bachchan family, while the developer will take charge of the construction. The project may take about four years to complete.
