Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali is in the news these days for his new film ‘I will be back’. Meanwhile, recently while remembering his college days, he made such a revelation which will shock everyone. He told that a political party had picked him up from the hostel at 2 o’clock in the night and taken him to a government quarter.

Controversy started over political poster

In a conversation with Unfiltered with Samdish, Imtiaz told that he was graduating from Hindu College in 1993. Then this incident happened with him. He said, ‘At that time there was competition between NSUI and ABVP in the university. One day someone put a poster on the front wall of my hostel. Then I asked him to put the poster on the side wall. But he deliberately put the poster in front. Then I removed that poster in front of him and put it on the side wall. After this he left from there.

Came to pick me up from hostel at 2 o’clock

He further said, ‘After a few days, at around 2 o’clock in the night, a friend from one of my hostels told me to run away, they are coming looking for you. After some time they came and asked me to come with them. I asked where to go, but he did not answer. He took me in a cycle rickshaw and took me with him to a government quarter. There was a gang leader associated with a political party, who asked about the poster.

Gang leader slaps his man

After this he told the gang leader, ‘I did not tear the poster, I had put it on the side wall. When the gang leader asked one of his men whether I had torn the poster? So he said that removing and tearing are the same thing. On hearing this, the gang leader said angrily, ‘You told me that he had torn the poster and now you are saying that he had just removed it.’ Then the gang leader slapped his own man twice for lying. Meanwhile the matter calmed down and I left from there.

about the movie

Let us tell you that Imtiaz Ali’s film ‘I will be back’ is going to be released in theaters on June 12. An incomplete love story will be seen in the film, the trailer of which has been liked a lot. Sharvari, Vedant Raina, Diljit Dosanjh and Naseeruddin Shah are in lead roles in the film.

Demonstration of different parties on 5 central posts

The posts of Joint Secretary and Treasurer went to ABVP, while the post of Vice President was won by an independent candidate.

Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), one of the prestigious universities of India, is known for academic excellence, but its relationship with controversies also often remains in the headlines. There have been many recent incidents in which this university has turned into a battlefield overnight.

The latest incident occurred on February 22 when the situation became tense late night on the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus when violence broke out between left-wing and right-wing student groups during a protest march. Both groups have blamed each other for the violence. According to the students, several students were injured in alleged stone pelting after the clash. But this is not the first time that something like this has happened in JNU. Let us see what happened from the year 2020 till now.

There was an uproar over the protest against CAA in the year 2020!

In January 2020, on the night of January 5, masked attackers entered the campus and attacked students and teachers, in which about 40 people were injured. Let us tell you that this attack took place when a group of teachers was discussing increasing the campus fees. This was the reason why this incident was seen in connection with the campus fee hike and the ongoing protests against CAA in those days. At the same time, different student organizations kept blaming each other.

In January 2024, more than four students were injured in a clash over election committee selection and eight ABVP members were fined ₹19,000 each in connection with the 2024 violence, which the organization alleged was a nexus between the administration and the student union.

Controversy over biometric system in 2025!

In the year 2025 also, many controversies came to light, including conflict over Dussehra event, MoU with Siddhant Knowledge Foundation, protest against biometric system and rustication of 5 student leaders after vandalism in the library.

The Left Front won key posts in the student union elections in November 2025, while the administration filed a police complaint in January 2026 after programs and controversial slogans on the anniversary of the 2020 attacks. Most of the incidents in JNU have been related to the ideological conflict and administrative decisions of the Left and Right student organizations, where despite investigation and disciplinary action, the incidents of confrontation have not stopped.

Let us tell you that the names of student organizations ABVP, JNSU, AISA, SFI are involved in these controversies. Controversies start between these organizations in matters of allegations and counter-allegations and also fade away with time. But the question arises whether no law and order can be implemented in such big institutions.. Shouldn’t research, study and intellectual discussion be the priority of the students studying in an institution like JNU which has the tag of a university? The incidents that are continuously coming to light indicate that such disputes are not going to stop without setting a clear framework for communication, accountability and administrative strictness among student organizations.

The atmosphere heated up in the Arts Faculty campus of Delhi University on Friday (February 13) evening when sloganeering started between the left and right wing student organizations. A protest was held by the Left organization in support of the implementation of UGC rules. Meanwhile, an incident of alleged scuffle and assault with a female journalist who had come there for coverage came to light.

Different claims from both sides

After the incident, a round of allegations and counter-allegations started. Left student organization says that Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) workers misbehaved with the female journalist.

Whereas ABVP has completely rejected these allegations. ABVP says that when a female journalist asked questions to the protesting left students, some students did not like the question and they themselves assaulted the journalist.

ABVP’s Delhi Secretary Sarthak Sharma said that the question asked by the female journalist might have displeased some people. He alleged that the same people who talk about women’s safety on campus raised their hands with a woman journalist.

Sarthak Sharma also said that the female journalist has lodged a complaint in the police station and the video footage will make it clear who was involved in the incident. He claimed that ABVP was not involved anywhere in this entire matter and the organization condemns this incident.

Demand for cancellation of degree

ABVP has demanded that those who assaulted the female journalist should be identified and strict action should be taken against them. The organization even said that the degrees of the guilty students should also be cancelled.

At present the police is busy investigating the matter. There is an atmosphere of tension in the campus, but the administration says that the situation is under control. Now everyone’s eyes are on the investigation report, which will make it clear who was responsible behind the incident.

The country’s capital Delhi was once again put to shame when a student of Delhi University was attacked with acid in broad daylight. This incident took place on Sunday (26 October) morning near Lakshmibai College in Ashok Vihar area, where the student was going for her extra classes.

Suddenly a bike rider threw acid on him. The student tried to save herself. His face was saved, but both his hands were badly burnt.

The one who threw acid was known to the student

Passersby immediately took him to the hospital. First he was taken to Deepchand Bandhu Hospital and later admitted to RML Hospital due to severe burns. According to doctors, the condition of the student is stable and the injuries are not life threatening.

Police investigation has revealed that the main accused was an acquaintance of the student. The accused Jitendra, who lives in Mukundpur area, used to stalk the student. About a month ago, there was a fight between the two over some issue, after which Jitendra started harassing her.

It is claimed that he along with two of his friends committed this crime on Sunday. According to the police, Ishaan gave the bottle to Armaan and he threw the acid.

Questions on women’s safety in Delhi

After the attack, the three accused fled from the spot. However, the police have identified him on the basis of nearby CCTV footage and several teams are conducting raids in search of him. This incident has once again raised serious questions on the safety of women in Delhi.

Protest by NSUI and SFI

Organizations active in student politics of Delhi University have strongly condemned this incident. National Students Union of India (NSUI) national president Varun Chaudhary said, “Acid was thrown on a Delhi University student in broad daylight, this is not just a crime but a proof of the failure of governance. If the BJP government and Delhi Police had really given priority to women’s safety, such incidents would have stopped. The culprits should be arrested immediately and they should be given strict punishment.”

Varun Chaudhary further said that NSUI stands with the victim and her family and the organization will continue to raise its voice until justice is provided.

SFI raised questions on the working style of police

At the same time, Students Federation of India (SFI), Delhi University unit also issued a statement saying that this incident is not just a crime but a symbol of ‘administrative insensitivity and government failure’. The organization said, “It is shocking that such an attack could happen in broad daylight, in front of a women’s college in the capital. The Delhi government and the police have repeatedly failed in such cases. Unless the culprits are given stringent punishment and security is not increased around college campuses, such incidents will continue.”

SFI also said, “In the past years, acid-related incidents were also reported near Miranda House, but concrete steps were never taken. This negligence has now become a threat to women.”

ABVP put this demand before the administration

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has described this incident as extremely unfortunate and condemnable and has demanded strict action from the administration against the culprits who carried out this attack.

ABVP says that such incidents in and around the university campus are a matter of serious concern from the safety point of view of girl students. ABVP has demanded from the university administration that such incidents should not be repeated, for this security arrangements should be strictly implemented around the campus, the number of CCTV cameras should be increased and police patrolling should be made more active.

Dissatisfaction among university students

Delhi Police has registered an FIR in the matter and said that action will be taken against the criminals under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). According to police officials, several teams have been sent to arrest the accused and technical surveillance has been increased.

After this attack, students protested in colleges and asked ‘How safe are the daughters of Delhi?’ As if the questions started echoing again. Seeing the attacks on women in the capital, people’s anger is clearly visible, because even after repeated such cases, the security situation is not changing.

Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University is once again surrounded by violence and allegations. A general body meeting was held on 15 October at the School of Social Sciences of JNU. During this, a heated clash broke out between two groups of students. According to the information, many students have been injured in this clash, including female students.

SFI and AISA, which are left-affiliated organizations, allege that ABVP members turned the meeting violent. Whereas ABVP says that the fight started after the objectionable remarks of the leftist councillor. Who had said derogatory things about the students of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Both groups of students are accusing each other of violence.

ABVP accused leftist organization

ABVP has launched a scathing attack on leftist groups regarding this violence. In a statement issued by the ABVP student organization, it has been said that there was a general body meeting in the School of Social Sciences of JNU, in which a counselor associated with the leftist group made extremely discriminatory remarks.

It is alleged that the counselor said in the meeting that students from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and people associated with ABVP are not eligible to come to JNU, they should be thrown out of the auditorium and this campus. After this statement the atmosphere of GBM became tense.

Female students also accused of assault

When students associated with ABVP protested peacefully and tried to present their views democratically, they were attacked by leftist students. Many students were injured in this violence, including female students. ABVP termed the attack on female students by leftist groups as extremely shameful and condemnable.

At the same time, ABVP and JNU administration also strongly condemned this entire incident and said that this incident is a direct attack on the democratic and intellectual traditions of JNU. JNU Students Union Joint Secretary Vaibhav Meena said that it is natural to have differences of opinion, but spreading violence and regional hatred in response to disagreement is against democracy.

Students coming from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar or any state have equal dignity. No one has the right to insult or attack anyone on the basis of region, ideology or organization.

In the Uttarakhand Students’ Union elections, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has once again demonstrated its strong hold and wide popularity. According to the results so far, ABVP has won in most colleges of the state. ABVP candidates were elected unopposed to the post of president in 27 colleges only after the nomination process, which is a clear indication of the ground power of the organization.

The victory of Rishabh Malhotra at DAV PG College Dehradun and Mahipal Bisht at HNB Garhwal University have waved saffron in the largest educational institutions in the state. ABVP also proves the occupation of ABVP in major colleges like Shuddhowala Doiwala, Rishikesh, Karanprayag, Srinagar, Khatima and Kotdwar that the students have expressed confidence in the working style and issues of the organization.

This victory of students conflicts and real issues- ABVP

ABVP believes that this victory is not only the election victory but the victory of students’ struggles and real issues. The organization has long been active to protect transparent examinations, better educational environment and student interests. This is the reason that the students gave priority to the panel associated with national interest and student interest.

Impact of Dhami Government’s policies

Political analysts believe that the policies of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami government are also important for this fierce victory. In recent years, the Dhami government has implemented strict anti-copy law to ensure transparency in competitive examinations. Also, by giving the opportunity of more than 25 thousand government jobs to the youth, a positive environment has been created in the employment sector.

A befitting reply to spread the arrest

Not only this, while the opposition tried to incite the youth and surround the government on the complaints of cheating in the UKSSSC examination, the results of the college elections proved that the student community is standing in favor of the government and ABVP. This result is being considered a befitting reply against efforts to spread chaos in the state.

Future direction

Political analysts believe that this victory of ABVP in Uttarakhand’s student politics will decide the direction of the future. It can not only indicate the strength of the organization, but can also affect the mainstream politics of the state in the coming time. The historic victory of ABVP in the students’ union elections and the public support on the policies of the Dhami government is a proof that the youth of Uttarakhand stands with the nationalist ideology and transparent governance system.

Opposition and some organizations continuously questioned the intention of the government regarding irregularities in the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) paper leak and recruitment examinations. It has been raised that the youth of the state is angry with the government and has taken to the road against it, but the results of the students’ union elections held in more than 100 colleges of the state present the opposite picture of this notion.

Students honored the policies of the government

ABVP is the BJP’s ongoing organization, and the BJP’s roots extend to the university and college campus from organizational terms. In such a situation, after the UKSSSC paper case came to light, it started to arise that this time the youth will respond to the BJP and its subsidiary organization with the strength of their vote and will show the path of defeat to the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in these elections. But the huge victory in the students’ union elections confirms that there is no widespread resentment between the students and its government.

The big and historic victory of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) made it clear that the students of the state colleges and universities, especially Genz, the BJP’s ideology and the policies of the government led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Election results also show that the situation of confidence in the government among students is far different from the allegations of the opposition.

Under the leadership of CM Dhami, the government has taken several concrete steps to make the recruitment process completely transparent and strict control over cheating. Decisions such as anti -copying law, technical monitoring in recruitment examinations and improvement in examination system have been successful in conveying the message to the youth that the government is listening to their concerns seriously and is ready to take strict steps for the solution.

Political analysts believe that this victory of ABVP is not only the result of organizational power or electoral strategy, but it is a symbol of the trust of the youth that they are on the policies and functioning of the government. The opposition may have tried to surround the government through movements to the students, but the results of the student union elections are indicated that the youth gave more importance to the intention and policies of the government.

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Sevalal Vidyarthi Dal (SLVD) alliance won all six major positions in Hyderabad Central University (HCU) Students’ Union Elections 2025. After the 45 round of counting, the ABVP-SLVD alliance defeated the alliance of left-wing student organizations (SFI-BSF-HCU-DSU-TS).

ABVP-SLVD candidate Shiv Palaepu won the post of president. He defeated the Student Federation of India (SFI), Bahujan Students Front (BSF), Dalit Student Union (DSU) and Tribal Student Forum (TSF) alliance candidate Ananya Das in a tough competition. Alliance candidate Devendra was elected as Vice President, Shruti Priya as General Secretary, Saurabh Shukla as Joint Secretary, Venus as Cultural Secretary and Jwala as Sports Secretary.

A total of 169 candidates tried their luck in the election
A total of 169 candidates tried their luck for various posts in the election. Out of these, eight candidates were in the fray for the posts of president, five vice presidents, six general secretaries, five joint secretaries and four cultural and sports secretaries. According to media reports, polling was held at 29 polling stations on September 19, in which more than 81 percent of the voters exercised their franchise.

Announcement of fresh elections
Earlier this month, the university administration had announced a fresh election for 2025-26 by the university administration. The administration took this step, citing the guidelines of the compulsory Lyngdoh Committee by the Supreme Court. The decision was strongly criticized by the National Students Union of India (NSUI) and called it “arbitrary and undemocratic”. NSUI alleged that it was decided to hold elections after the completion of the ongoing student union activities with the consent of all parties, but the administration suddenly dissolved the student union and formed the Election Commission.
ABVP returns to HCU Students’ Union after seven years
This is ABVP’s return to the HCU Students’ Union after seven years. Last time in the 2018-19 session, ABVP-OBCF-Sewallal Vidyarthi Dal alliance won all six posts when Aarti Nagpal was elected president. After the 2018 victory, the Left-Dalit alliances continued to dominate. The SFI-ASA-DSU alliance won all positions in the elections of 2019, 2022-23 and 2024, including Abhishek Nandan in 2019 and the election of the first Dalit Quier President in 2022. During this time, ABVP faced allegations of institutional decline, land disputes and failure on student issues.

The 2025 victory is considered to be the success of anti-incumbency and nationalist agenda. ABVP claimed that students have now accepted ‘nationalist organizations’. This victory of the ABVP-SLVD alliance is being seen as a major change in student politics in the university campus. The coalition has promised to work for their interests in future, describing this victory as a victory for the trust of the students.

Student Union Pakistan: Student politics has always been playing a special role in political development in India. Here Indian universities continue to hold students union elections from time to time. Recently, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad won a strong victory in the Delhi University Student Union election. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad won three of the four central panel posts. With this, the National Student Union of India got only one seat. Now student politics has an important contribution in India, but in Pakistan too, students union elections are held? Let’s know

Student union in Pakistan

Student unions in Pakistan have always played an important role in politics. But in 1984, General Zia -ul -Haq banned student unions across the country. He cited the incidents of violence on campus as the reason. This ban was imposed to prevent political unrest, but due to this, youth leadership and democratic participation had been suppressed for decades.

Big change in Pakistan

In 2022, the ban on student unions in Sindh province was removed. People praised this move. People said that the students union can help solve problems like harassment and lack of democratic participation in the campus. However, the student union of Pakistan is still buried and students union elections are not held everywhere.

Pakistani leader who started as a student worker

Despite the ban, many well -known leaders of Pakistan started their career with eye politics. A name comes from Sheikh Rashid Ahmed. He has been elected to the Parliament of Pakistan eight times from Rawalpindi. Rashid Ahmed was an active student leader at Garden College, Rawalpindi and then studied law in Lahore. Another name comes in this episode, that is Hussain Haqqani. Hussain Haqqani was a former Pakistan ambassador to the US. He also made his debut as a student worker. Hussain was associated with Hakkani Jamaat -e -Islami’s student organization Jamiat.

With this, another name comes out of Javed Hashmi. Javed Hashmi had stepped into student politics since the age of 20. He participated in many big demonstrations. He also won many student elections in Punjab University.
