Ranya Rao Case Latest Update: In the gold smuggling case associated with actress Ranya Rao, a special court of economic crime has sent the third accused Sahil Jain to 14 days judicial custody on Wednesday. The Revenue Intelligence Directorate produced Sahil’s custody in court after the end of the detention period.

Ranya Rao was arrested on 3 March

Ranya, the step -daughter of senior police officer Ramchandra Rao, was arrested on March 3 on charges of smuggling 14.2 kg of gold. The price of this gold is more than Rs 12.56 crore. On March 27, a session court in Bengaluru rejected the bail plea of ​​the Kannada actress. His bail plea has been rejected for the third time. Earlier, his bail plea was also rejected by the Special Court and Magistrate Court for economic crime.

Tarun Raju is another accused in the case

The prosecution has argued in the court that the actress has admitted to using hawala money to buy gold. Officials have issued a notice to start a judicial inquiry against him, as it will reveal other financial irregularities. Tarun Raju, a close associate of the actress, is the second accused in the case. The court has not yet pronounced the verdict on his bail plea.

Now gold businessman Sahil Jain arrested

Sona businessman Sahil Jain has been arrested for involvement in hiding the gold of smuggling associated with Ranya Rao. This is the third arrest in the case. Jain was sent to four days police custody for further investigation. Earlier, lawyer Madhu Rao, appearing for the Revenue Intelligence Directorate (DRI) in the Special Economic Crime Court, said that Tarun and Ranya had traveled to Dubai about 26 times. Tarun traveled from Dubai to Hyderabad on a ticket booked by Ranya Rao.
