Important Documents As Proof: People living in the country are required to have many documents. These documents are needed every day for some work or the other. Nowadays, correct identification of documents has become very important in government schemes, school admission, passport, voter card or any government identification process. For some time now, which documents are necessary to prove citizenship in the country? There has been a lot of controversy on this.

Often people do not understand which document is proof of citizenship, which of address and which of date of birth. Many times people post the same document everywhere. Documents required for proof of citizenship

Certain government identity cards are valid to prove citizenship in India. The government has recognized many types of documents for residence i.e. address proof. The most common among these is Aadhar card, which is most used in the entire country. Apart from this, electricity bill, water bill, telephone bill or property tax receipt also serves as address proof.

Rent agreement is also valid for those living in rented houses. Provided that it has the signatures of both the owner and the tenant. The address written in passport and voter ID card is also considered valid proof of residence. Address certificate issued to employees in any government or private service is also considered as residence proof.

Documents proving date of birth

Birth certificate is the most reliable and official document to provide accurate proof of date of birth. It is issued by the municipality or gram panchayat. If birth certificate is not available. So 10th class mark sheet or school leaving certificate is also considered valid.

Because the date of birth is recorded in it. Many organizations also accept the date of birth recorded in passport and Aadhar card. Age is not mentioned on the PAN card, hence it is not taken as proof of date of birth.

Bihar was the first state to successfully complete this process and now this model will be implemented in the entire country.

Which documents will prove citizenship?

When it comes to proving citizenship, certain documents are legally recognized as per government guidelines. These include birth certificate, residence certificate, passport, National Register of Citizens document, government identity card or pension order. Let us tell you that Aadhar Card, PAN Card or Ration Card are valid only for address or government schemes, they are not considered as proof of citizenship. • To update the address in Aadhaar, you have to first go to the official website of My Aadhaar, after which you have to login with Aadhaar number, captcha code and OTP.
• After this you will see the update Aadhaar online option, you have to click on it.
• Now you go to the procedure by choosing the address option in it.
• In the next step, you have to enter your new address. After this, you choose the post office and upload the scan copy of the address proof.
• After checking the details, now you have to submit it by filling a fee of Rs 50.
• After submitting the fee, you will get a service request number, so that you can track the status.

Which documents are valid

UIDAI recognizes more than 15 address proof documents. It includes passport, bank statement, ration card, voter ID, gas, electricity water bills which should not be 3 months old, insurance policy, property tax receipt and Kiryanama. Along with this, identity cards like PAN card, passport or voter ID may also be needed to change the address in the Aadhaar card.

How to download new base after addressing address

• After updating the address in the Aadhaar card, you click on the download Aadhaar on the UIDAI website to download it.
• After this you have to enter Aadhaar number, captcha code and OTP.
• Now you will see the option of verifying and download, you have to click on it. After this, you will see the option of PDF download, through this you can download PDF of Aadhaar card.
• This downloaded e-Aadhaar is valid everywhere. If you want a physical copy, then you can also ask for a reprint for 50 rupees from UIDAI.

Can there be updates without address proof

Many people also have the question whether the address can be updated without address proof. So the answer is that without address proof, the address cannot be updated. According to UIDAI policy, a valid address proof document is mandatory to change the address in the Aadhaar card. For this, whether you adopt online process or offline.
