Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan was taken from Adiala Jail to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) at 12.30 midnight today. Imran Khan, who was suffering from Central Retinal Vein Occlusion (CRVO) disease in his right eye, was given the second dose of anti-VEGF injection.

This dose of injection in Imran Khan’s right eye was administered by Dr. Nadeem Qureshi, retina specialist of Al Shifa Eye Hospital, Rawalpindi, and Dr. Muhammad Arif Khan, head of the ophthalmology department of PIMS, in the operation theater of PIMS.

Khan is suffering from high blood pressure
According to the information, Imran Khan has been suffering from high blood pressure since July last year and Pakistan Government PIMS informed that ECG and ECO test was also done before the injection in Imran Khan’s eye, which according to PIMS was found to be normal. However, PIMS did not provide information as to why ECG and ECO test was done to check the heart of Imran Khan when he was to get an injection in his eye today.

Apart from this, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences also informed that after the injection in Imran Khan’s eye, he was sent back after giving necessary suggestions. In the same month, when Barrister Salman Safdar was appointed amicus curiae by the Pakistani Supreme Court to provide information about the condition of Imran Khan, Salman Safdar informed the court that Imran Khan could see only 15 percent in his right eye.

PTI had demonstrated all over Pakistan
Imran Khan’s party PTI had protested to get him admitted to the hospital from jail, but still the Pakistani government did not get Imran Khan admitted to the hospital and placed before the court on 16 February a new investigation report of PIMS and Al Shifa Eye Hospital, which claimed that Imran Khan’s right eye is improving after the first dose of anti-VEGF injection on 24 January.

Amicus Curiae Barrister Salman Safdar, after meeting Imran Khan in jail for 2 hours on February 10, informed in the report presented in the Supreme Court that Imran Khan has lost 85% of the vision in his right eye. Imran Khan can see only 15 percent in his right eye.

It was told in the report that till October 2025, the vision of Imran Khan in both the eyes was 6/6, but later he started complaining of blurred vision and poor vision. At that time, the Pakistani government and Adiala jail administration did not give him proper treatment and due to this, Imran Khan suddenly lost all the vision in his right eye.

Seeing Imran Khan’s poor condition, he was somehow taken to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences on 20 February. Where after examination by the hospital doctor, ‘Right Central Retinal Vein Occlusion’ was diagnosed. Imran Khan was treated for 20 minutes but despite this, Imran Khan can now see only 15 percent of his right eye.

Imran’s eyes are watering again and again: Report claims

Amicus Curiae informed in the report that Imran Khan appeared clearly upset during the meeting. His eyes were watering again and again. He kept wiping his eyes with tissue again and again. The complete medical records of Imran Khan are not available with the Adiala Jail administration. He received a medical report dated 6 February 2026 from Imran Khan’s family, which was given to the family by the jail administration. In this, complete details of the treating specialist doctor were not recorded.

Imran Khan is lodged in Adiala jail since October 2023. He is being kept alone in the same cell for almost two years and four months. After waking up in the morning, Imran Khan has breakfast, reads the Quran and does exercise. Then Imran Khan is imprisoned in the jail cell from 5:30 pm to 10 am.

Imran’s cell room is very small: Report

After inspecting the jail cell in which Imran Khan has been kept, Amicus Curiae wrote in the report that the room in Imran Khan’s cell is very small. Only 8 feet long and 10 feet wide. This small room has a bed, chair, table, fan and blower heater and a 32-inch TV installed on the wall, but at the time of inspection it was not on and about 100 books were kept in the cell. A small toilet is built in the cell where Imran Khan lives. It doesn’t even have an exhaust system. Also, Imran Khan’s clothes are hanging on hangers on the wall and there is no cupboard and the condition of the chair is very bad.

Imran’s condition worsens in summer: Report

Information was given in the report that Imran Khan’s condition becomes very bad in summer. There is no fridge in the cell and only cool box is provided. Also, last summer, Imran Khan had food poisoning 2-3 times. Imran Khan faces the problem of extreme heat, humidity and mosquitoes in the summer season, there is a system of coolers and mosquito repellents but it is inadequate.

Salman Safdar said in a 7-page report that for the last five months, Imran Khan was not allowed to meet his lawyers and legal team. Many cases are pending against him at various stages. In such a situation, not allowing lawyers to meet is a violation of the right to a fair trial and is considered a serious issue and requires immediate judicial intervention.

He is not being given enough time to meet his wife also: Report

Apart from this, Imran Khan is being allowed to meet his wife Bushra Bibi, who is lodged in Adiala jail, once a week for 30 minutes. The jail administration is not allowing his sisters and relatives to meet him. In the year 2025, Imran Khan was allowed to talk to his sons Qasim and Suleman living in Britain only twice on telephone.

In the report, Amicus Curiae Salman Safdar, appointed by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, expressed satisfaction about the security of Imran Khan on the basis of his two-hour meeting, but expressed serious concerns regarding health, legal rights and not being able to contact the family and also made some recommendations.

Amicus Curia made this recommendation to the Supreme Court

Amicus Curiae Salman Safdar has recommended that in view of the deteriorating condition of Imran Khan’s eyes, an independent team of eye doctors should be constituted and an immediate investigation should be conducted. It has also been suggested that Imran Khan’s personal physicians Dr. Faisal Sultan and Dr. Asim Yusuf should also be considered for inclusion in the investigation and treatment process. In the report, Amicus Curiae Salman Safdar claimed that any delay in the treatment of Imran Khan could prove to be a serious risk to his health.

In the report, the Amicus Curiae has also recommended to the Supreme Court that Imran Khan be allowed to meet and talk to his family, within the ambit of law and security protocols, so that his basic human rights can be protected.

Imran Khan’s son Qasim made these allegations

After the Amicus Curiae report, Qasim Khan, son of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, posted on Instagram and alleged that Imran Khan was in these conditions due to being kept in jail for 922 days and not being treated properly.

When the Adiala jail administration did not allow Imran Khan’s doctors to go inside the jail and meet him, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi sat on a strike along with the doctors. Dr. Mohammad Asim Yusuf, who was Imran Khan’s personal doctor for many years, informed that he has not been allowed to meet Imran Khan since November 2024 and the last time he met Imran Khan, he did not have any problem.

What did Imran Khan’s doctor tell?
Pakistan’s well-known Eye Specialist and Imran Khan’s doctor Khurram Azam Mirza informed outside Adiala Jail that earlier operation had to be done for CRV (Central Retinal Vein Occlusion) but now injections have come but the problem is that if there is a delay in the correct treatment or the treatment is incomplete then serious problems arise, due to which after the pressure builds up, first bleeding occurs and then there is a risk of glaucoma and black cataract. According to Dr. Khurram Azam Mirza, this disease can be caused due to high blood pressure or stress, but till date the information about Imran Khan’s tests has not been shared, so nothing can be said and if possible, the treatment and tests should be done in the hospital only because that facility is not available in the jail.

Was taken secretly to hospital
On the night of January 24, Imran Khan was secretly taken from Adiala jail to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad for eye treatment for 20 minutes. According to Pakistan’s Information and Broadcasting Minister Ataullah Tarar, after examination, eye specialist doctors in Adiala Jail had advised that Imran Khan should be taken to PIMS for a small procedure, following which written consent was first taken from Imran Khan and then a small 20-minute procedure was done on him in PIMS and Imran Khan is fine now.

Khan has been in jail for 909 days
Imran Khan, who has been in jail in Pakistan for 909 days, is not being allowed to meet Imran Khan since December 4 because in the meeting on December 4, Imran Khan had sent a message to the country through his sister Uzma Khanum, targeting Pakistan’s Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Asim Munir and held him responsible for terrorism within Pakistan, after which the Government of Pakistan has arrested Imran Khan. Khan’s sisters were banned from meeting Imran Khan.

Police violating High Court order

Islamabad High Court had ordered in March 2025 that Imran Khan should be allowed to meet his family twice a week i.e. on Tuesday and Thursday. But PTI says that this order is not being followed properly. The protesters were demanding compliance with this order.

PTI has strongly condemned this action of the police. The party alleges that the police sprayed chemical or poisonous water on women, elderly people and common people. Pakistan Police snatched the independence of judiciary

Imran Khan’s sister Aalima Khan said that the independence of the judiciary has been taken away. Unemployment is increasing in the country and the security situation is worsening. He mentioned his sister Uzma’s brief meeting with Imran on December 2. Uzma told that Imran was very upset and angry. Imran Khan’s name removed from TV-radio: Jemima

Goldsmith also claimed that Imran Khan’s name has been almost completely removed from Pakistan’s TV and radio, leaving social media platform X as the only independent platform where this alleged grave injustice can be fully exposed.

Jemima alleged that now the social media platform X itself is limiting her reach. Citing the results of X’s AI tool Grok, he said that secret throttling is being done on his account, due to which posts related to Imran Khan’s jail condition and his sons’ meeting with him are being hidden through the algorithm.

Jemima reminded Musk of his promise

Jemima told Musk, ‘You had promised freedom of expression, not such expression that no one can hear.’ He appealed to Elon Musk to intervene in this matter and restore access to his account.

PTI said, ‘Fascist activities of Punjab Police have started once again. The workers who were peacefully protesting outside Adiala Jail in extreme cold were attacked with water cannons. These cowardly actions will neither be able to suppress our voice nor reduce our morale.

In another post, PTI said, ‘His family was put on strike as they were not allowed to meet him. Using water cannon against peaceful protests is not only a brazen violation of Imran Khan’s prisoner rights, but also a direct attack on the constitutional rights of the people who gathered to protest the government’s atrocities.

PTI has appealed to the International Human Rights Organization to intervene in the matter. According to local media reports, Imran Khan’s sister Alima Khan and PTI members started protesting outside Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail on Tuesday. Alima Khan told that Imran Khan has not been allowed to meet his personal doctor for the last 14 months.

Also, in this small barrack, there is a provision of cooler, TV along with 1 chair and 2 tables for Imran Khan.

Pakistan government had given information in the Supreme Court
Apart from this, there is also an exclusive gallery for Imran Khan in the jail where he is allowed to walk twice a day and there is also a small kitchen for Imran Khan alone in which food is prepared as per his wish. On June 6 last year, the government of Pakistan had shared pictures in the Supreme Court and given details of the facilities provided to Imran Khan, according to which Imran Khan has been given books to read in jail and there is also a bookshelf in the small room where Imran Khan lives.

Imran Khan is no longer being allowed to meet his sisters
Imran Khan has also been given an exercise bike and stretching belt for exercising in jail, so that Imran Khan remains healthy. Imran Khan, lodged in Adiala jail since August 2023, was allowed to meet his sisters every week, but for the last 4 weeks, Imran Khan has been suddenly stopped from meeting his sisters or other family members.

A big reason for this is that Imran Khan used to give his message to his supporters in Pakistan through sisters and was continuously criticizing Asim Munir after he became Field Marshal. In such a situation, Imran Khan’s message against Asim Munir could not reach Pakistan and Imran Khan could be silenced by harassing him.
