Major negligence of the administration has come to light in the voter list revision work (SIR) in Mahoba. The names of about 2300 villagers, including the head of Srinagar Gram Panchayat of Kabrai development block, have been missing from the voter list. The surprising thing is that even the name of the present head is not in the list. After complaining about this matter, the SDM has asked to fill the claim form and get the name added.

With the sound of three-tier Panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh, the work of revising the voter list is going on at a fast pace. But in Mahoba district, such negligence of BLO and related employees has been exposed, which has raised questions on the entire election process.

Village head’s name removed from voter list

According to the information, the matter pertains to Srinagar Gram Panchayat of Kabrai development block. Where not one or two, but entire 2300 voters have been shown the way out of the list. The most shocking fact is that the current village head of Srinagar, Ashish Rajput himself has fallen prey to this negligence.

The names of Ashish Rajput as well as other members of his family and thousands of respected voters of the village are missing from the voter list. This major mistake made in a cursory manner has created a stir among the villagers. The distressed village head hastily reached the office of District Magistrate Ghazal Bhardwaj and pleaded for justice.

Voter list is being revised again – SDM

Taking cognizance of this serious matter, Mahoba SDM Shivdhyan Pandey said that the voter list is being amended under the instructions of the State Election Commission. Investigation is being done on the complaint given by Srinagar village head. The administration says that those whose names have been removed from the list should not panic. Voters can submit their claim by filling the relevant form between December 24 and December 30.

However, now the question arises that due to whose carelessness such a large number of names were deleted? At present, villagers and heads have started the process of filling forms to get back their democratic rights.

A case of giving a wheelchair to a healthy person has come to light in a program of the Disabled Welfare Department in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh. To whom Lambhua MLA Sitaram Verma himself is seen giving a wheelchair. But after some time the person stands up. After the video of the incident went viral on social media, questions are being raised on administrative insensitivity.

In this programme, artificial aids were being distributed to the disabled. The authorities got local MLA Sitaram Verma to provide a wheelchair to a man who looked physically healthy. It can be clearly seen in the viral video that the person who got the wheelchair is later seen walking normally without any support.

When information was sought from Audio Social Welfare in this regard, they hesitated. Officials are being accused of not implementing the government’s ambitious plans properly. District Backward Class Welfare Officer Mudit Srivastava said that a total of 16 tricycles, 8 wheelchairs, 4 crutches, 1 hearing aid and 1 walking stick have been distributed by MLA Sitaram Verma and the block chief representative. He also informed about distribution of certificates under the marriage grant scheme. However, when he was asked about a healthy person being given a wheelchair, he denied any such information.

Father took wheelchair in place of son

District Backward Welfare Officer Mudit Srivastava said that as per the current information, the wheel chair given by the MLA was from the father of Divyang Sandeep, Ram Dhani, resident of Bankepur. Because the disabled were unable to come to the distribution program, it was given to their father. The case is being investigated. Now people are raising questions that if the officers had wanted, they would not have been beaten like this, the disabled person could have been given a chair at home also.
