There is no change in our goal, but there has been a political change after the death of their prominent leader. We never said that we wanted to change the regime, but the change happened.”

Trump further warned that “if there is no agreement within this period, we will take very strong action against all their power generation centers at once.” The war between America and Iran started on 28 February. On this day, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in sudden air strikes by America and Israel. America named this action Operation Epic Fury, while Israel called it Operation Roaring Lion.

Trump said- talks will continue

After the meeting, Trump wrote on social media that no concrete decision was taken in this meeting. He said, “All that has been decided is that I have said that talks should continue with Iran, so that it can be seen whether an agreement can be reached or not.”

Trump further said, “If an agreement is reached, that will be our first choice. If not, then what to do next will be seen later.” He also did not clarify whether Netanyahu agreed to this matter or not.

No major breakthrough on Iran

There were fears that Netanyahu would urge Trump to expand talks with Iran not just to the nuclear program but also to ballistic missiles and regional activities. Netanyahu stressed Israel’s security needs at the meeting, but there was no indication that Trump had accepted his demands. Israeli officials have already warned that the nuclear deal alone will not be able to control Iran’s vast military power.
