Ahmed Khan’s star-studded action-comedy film ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ is performing well at the box office. In this, many big actors like Akshay Kumar, Raveena Tandon, Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal have added their acting chops. The biggest feature of this film was the return of the iconic pair of Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon on screen after years. Recently Ahmed Khan told how he convinced these two old friends to share the screen together.

Now we had to work together…
According to Hindustan Times, Ahmed Khan told that there was a character of a strong village woman in the film, for which he had only the name of Raveena Tandon in his mind. Ahmed said, ‘Akshay Kumar was a part of this film from the beginning. When it came to Raveena’s character, I told her that you and Akshay have not done any film together for years. Both of them are very close friends of mine.

He further said, ‘After listening to me, both of them thought that now everyone has progressed so much in life that someday or the other they had to do something together. To the delight and amusement of the audience, both immediately agreed. They worked as per the demands of the film’s story, but the audience liked their on-screen chemistry in their own way.

It was a big challenge to handle 30 artists simultaneously.
There is an army of more than 30 big actors in this film. It was not easy to give every artist the right place on the screen. On this Ahmed Khan told that he had divided everyone into different groups, like actors, crew, villagers and villains. Ahmed said, ‘I did not give solo scenes to anyone. Almost all the actors were present in every scene and reacted to the same situation, so that no one felt small or isolated.

How is Ahmed Khan’s ‘Welcome’ different from Anees Bazmee?
The old films of ‘Welcome’ franchise were directed by Anees Bazmee. Talking about shouldering this responsibility and giving his own style to the film, Ahmed Khan said, ‘Anees Bhai’s style of humor is very different. He is a writer, not me. His humor starts with his pen, while mine comes straight to the camera. ‘Welcome’ was always known for Dubai, black suits and glamour. I changed the whole look and kept it neutral. I made everyone wear the same uniform, so that no one would be seen as superior or inferior. I gave it a sepia tone, which is quite different from the noise and color that comedy films usually make. I made a very serious looking comedy film. In this, the action director in me also came out a little.

We targeted an audience between 5 and 95 years of age
When Ahmed was asked what was special about this film compared to other films, he said, ‘Making people laugh is one of the most difficult tasks because everyone has different tastes in comedy. The only thing we kept in mind was that we would not indulge in vulgarity, nor make insulting jokes nor do slapstick comedy. We kept in mind the audience of 5 to 95 years of age and it worked for us.

‘Welcome 4’ stamped
Let us tell you that after the success of ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, the makers have given the green signal to its next sequel i.e. ‘Welcome 4’. Director Ahmed Khan has confirmed the fourth part of this superhit franchise. The director of the film will be Ahmed Khan.
