Speaking at a Chinese government event, DeepSeek’s senior researcher Chen Deli has expressed this fear.

AI-chain will eat up jobs

Chen said that in the next 5-10 years, AI will eat up jobs and in the next 10-20 years, AI models will start doing all the work that humans are currently doing. This will pose a big challenge to the society. He said that he is not criticizing this technology, but it will have a negative impact on the society and tech companies should be aware of this.

Even the father of AI has expressed such fear

Recently, Geoffrey Hinton, known as the father of AI and Nobel Prize winner, also gave a new warning regarding this technology. He had said that the way things are going, lakhs of people will have to lose their jobs. He said that big companies are firing people and getting their work done through AI. These companies are putting so much emphasis on this because it will make big money. Hinton also said that due to AI, people like American billionaire Elon Musk will become rich and he will not mind people losing their jobs. He further said that this entire problem should not be imposed only on AI. This problem is coming because society and economy have been designed like this.

Amazon robots replacing workers: A New York Times report has again created a stir in the employment sector. According to a recent New York Times report, the world’s largest e-commerce company Amazon is working rapidly towards hiring robots in its warehouses and delivery centers.

The company believes that less money will have to be spent on robots as compared to humans and the work will also be done faster than before. The company hopes that replacing humans with robots will cost less in picking, packing and delivering products. The company estimated that it would save 30 cents on each item. Amazon has recently started a warehouse where 1000 robots are working. Also, the number of employees has reduced by 25 percent. Robots are doing the work from picking to packing the goods on their own.

The company plans to reduce about 1.6 lakh jobs by 2027 and replace them with robots. So that there is no dependence on thousands of jobs in future. The company is preparing to do 75 percent of its work completely on automation mode. Due to which the jobs of many people may be in danger. About 12 lakh employees work in Amazon. If robots replace humans, their numbers may decrease. Even if there is no reduction, there seems to be little opportunity for creation of new employment. However, with the advent of new technology, there will be a need for some skilled employees. Due to which new employment opportunities can also open.

Amazon has responded to the report

Responding to this report of New York Times, Amazon has said that the New York Times did not tell the entire plan of the company to the people. Amazon spokesperson Kelly Nantel said that 2.5 lakh new workers are being recruited for the festive season. However, it was not made clear how many of those employees would be given permanent jobs.
