The country’s most prestigious government hospital, AIIMS Delhi, has created a new history in the matter of treatment of patients. Statistics of the last one year show that the number of people coming here for treatment has broken all records till now. Not only the number of patients, but also a significant increase in beds and admissions has been recorded, which tells the story of expansion of health services.

More than 48 lakh patients treated in OPD, figures create new record

According to the latest data of AIIMS Delhi, 48,43,572 patients availed OPD services during the year 2024-25. This number in itself is considered a big achievement. This achievement is also important for the hospital administration because handling patients on such a large scale is a big challenge for any institution.

Increase in IPD also, 3.61 lakh patients admitted

Not only OPD, there has been a tremendous increase in the number of patients admitted and treated. In the year 2024-25, 3,61,236 patients were admitted to the hospital and given treatment. This shows that even in serious cases, people’s trust in AIIMS is continuously increasing.

332 new beds added in two years, structure expanded

If we look at the reports of the last three years, the infrastructure of the hospital has continuously improved. By the year 2024-25, the total number of beds has increased to 3,657. Within two years, 332 new beds were added, which is considered an important step in view of the increasing patient number.

OPD load increased by 13.81 percent in two years

If the year 2022-23 is compared with 2024-25, then 5,87,771 additional patients were treated in OPD. This shows an increase of about 13.81 percent. This level of increase in such a short period of time reflects both the increasing demand for health services and the capacity of the institution.

Nearly 29 percent jump in admitted patients

There has been an even sharper increase in the number of patients admitted and treated. While 2,80,770 patients were admitted to IPD in the year 2022-23, this figure increased to 3,61,236 in 2024-25. That means an increase of 80,466 patients in two years, which is an increase of about 28.65 percent. This increase is believed to be around one third.

Why has AIIMS model become an example of trust across the country?

Today about 22 AIIMS institutes are operating in different parts of the country. The working style and reliable services of Delhi-based AIIMS have made it a standard institute. People from every corner of the country come here with the hope of treatment. This institution is considered the last resort especially for the economically weaker section. People feel that the patient can be cured if he gets timely treatment from AIIMS. This trust and hope inspires the doctors and health workers here to continuously perform better. The result of which people get better treatment and this is the reason why patients and their families are more inclined towards AIIMS.

A very painful and shocking news has come out from Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, where addiction to fast food took the life of a promising student. Continuous consumption of junk food like chow mein, Maggi, pizza and burger proved fatal for 16 year old Ahana. His condition deteriorated after intestinal infection and he was taken to AIIMS for treatment, but he could not be saved. The family is extremely shocked by the death of their daughter.

Ahana’s death has once again started a new debate regarding the consumption of fast food. The family had no expectation that one day the very thing that their daughter was eating so fondly would take her life. Experts had earlier also warned against excessive consumption of such fast food, despite this some people remain careless. Who have nothing left except regrets.

Ahana was a 11th class student

Ahana, the youngest daughter of farmer Mansoor Khan, resident of Mohalla Afghanan, Amroha, was promising in studies and was a class 11 student of Hashmi Girls Inter College. According to family members, Ahana was very fond of eating fast food. Despite being forbidden at home, she often kept eating outside. In the beginning no one had any idea that this habit would prove to be so fatal. In the month of September, Ahana’s health suddenly started deteriorating and she started having severe stomach pain. On November 30, his family took him to a private hospital in Moradabad, where tests confirmed that there were holes in his intestines at several places. Doctors cited long-term consumption of fast food as the main reason.

The student was operated upon when her condition became serious. He was discharged from the hospital after the operation, but his health did not improve even after returning home. She continued to become weaker. Four days ago, when her health deteriorated again, her family took her to Delhi AIIMS. During treatment at AIIMS, her condition improved for some time, but Ahana died suddenly on Sunday night due to heart failure. Uncle Gulzar Khan alias Guddu told that the doctors have clearly stated that fast food is the cause of intestinal upset. The untimely death of a promising student has created an uproar in the family and there is a wave of mourning in the entire area.

Keep children away from fast food: cmo

On the death of the student, Amroha CMO Satyapal Singh said that a case has come to light in Amroha where death has been reported due to consuming too much fast food. On this subject, I say that children should stay away from fast food, pizza, burger, chow mein fast food. Because fast food contains more spices, more oil, which leads to gas cottage and fatty liver, it also leads to obesity and continuous eating causes gas problems, and the intestines also start getting damaged.

He said that this also damages the liver. Eating too much fast food does nothing but harm to the body. Children should eat healthy food and family members should pay attention to this. Along with this, in case of any health related problem, it was advised to consult a qualified doctor, so that timely treatment can be provided.
