MBBS fees are so low?

The total academic fees for MBBS in AIIMS Delhi is very low. The total fee to be deposited at one time is around Rs 1628. This includes registration fee of Rs 25, security fee of Rs 100, tuition fee of Rs 1350, lab charge of Rs 90 and student union fee of Rs 63. That means, for complete medical studies, students have to pay very low fees which is much less as compared to private medical colleges.

How much does it cost to stay in a hostel in AIIMS Delhi?

AIIMS Delhi also provides hostel facility to its students, if we talk about hostel related expenses, the fees in this too have been kept very low. Hostel rent is around Rs 990, electricity fee is Rs 198, pot fund is Rs 1320 and gym fee is Rs 220. Apart from this, Rs 1000 has to be deposited as security deposit which is later refunded. In this way, the total cost of the hostel falls between Rs 3700 to Rs 4200. If we talk about monthly expenses, then the hostel fee is lump sum, but the expenses for food i.e. mess have to be paid separately.

Fees for foreign students

Seats are also reserved for foreign students in AIIMS Delhi, the fees for them is different from that of Indian students. Foreign candidates have to pay fees of up to $75,000 for the entire MBBS course, which has to be deposited in different installments.

Why are AIIMS fees so low?

AIIMS Delhi is a government institute, which was established in 1956. For this, funding is received from the Central Government and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. For this reason, the fees for medical education here are subsidized to a great extent. Despite the low fees, it offers world-class education, better infrastructure and clinical exposure, which makes it the most preferred medical college in the country.
