The Gaza war is becoming more frightening. The Israeli attack in the southern part of Gaza gave a major loss of life on Monday (August 25, 2025). According to the Civil Protection Agency, at least 20 people were killed in the attack on Nasar Hospital of Khan Younis, including 5 journalists and a member of civil security.

Condolences on the death of journalists
Al Jazira, associated press (AP) and journalists associated with Reuters were killed in this attack. The death of Al Jazira’s photo journalist Mohammad Salama was confirmed. AP expressed deep grief over the death of 33 -year -old Visual Journalist Maryam Dagga. Reuters informed about the death of their contractor Hussam al-Masri and the injuries of journalist Hatem Khalid. The Palestinian Journalist Association said that other journalists killed include Muj Abu Taha and Ahmed Abu Aziz. Abu Taha was associated with many international and local media institutions.

Israeli army statement
The Israeli army admitted that it attacked the Nasar Hospital area and said that “the General Staff has given instructions to start an immediate investigation”. The army also said that it does not target journalists and is sorry for the innocent people being harmed.

Gaza Civil Defense spokesman Mahmood Bassal said that the Israeli drone targeted a hospital building and an air strike was also carried out while taking out the injured. The bodies of smoke, debris and blood were seen after the explosion in AFP footage. People were seen to be injured and taken dead to the hospital. A corpse was also seen hanging from the upper floor of the building. A woman wearing a white coat and a medical dress was seriously injured in the attack. He had heavy straps on his leg and clothes were soaked with blood.

Data of death of journalists
So far, about 200 journalists have died in the Gaza-Israel War. Recently, 4 employees and 2 independent journalists of Al Jazeera were killed in an attack outside Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) and Reporters Bidout Borders (RSF) said that targeting journalists in war is a serious crime.

The Gaza war began in October 2023 when Hamas attacked Israel, killing 1,219 people. Since then, more than 62,744 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli’s retaliation, mostly common citizens.

About the Israeli attack, Al Jazeera’s Anas Al-Sharif wrote in his last post, “If these words reach you, then know that Israel has managed to kill me and press my voice, but don’t forget Gaza”. Al Jazeera quoted the head of a local hospital as saying that 4 of his journalists were killed in an Israeli attack on his tent in Gaza city.

IDF told Anas al-Sharif terrorist

Israel Defense Force (IDF) has described Anas as a terrorist. The social media post conducted by the Israeli military said that Hamas terrorist Anas al-Sharif, who used to describe himself as a journalist of Al Jazira. Al-Sharif was the head of a terrorist group of Hamas and attacked Israeli citizens and IDF soldiers with rockets.

The IDF said that intelligence and documents received from Gaza, including rosters, terrorist training lists and salary records, prove that Anas was a Hamas worker associated with Al Sharif Al Jazeera. Also said that the press badge is not a shield for terrorism.
