On Tuesday (February 17, 2026), Pakistani Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi has made serious allegations against Imran Khan’s sister Alima Khanum regarding the eye issue of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan. He claimed that Alima Khanum is doing politics on Imran Khan’s health.

Naqvi alleged during the press conference that after the first injection in Imran Khan’s eye, the doctors were to see him on February 12 and conduct tests, but because of Imran Khan’s sister Alima Khanum, after a delay of three days, the doctors were able to reach Adiala Jail on February 15 to test Imran Khan.

Not only this, Mohsin Naqvi alleged that when the team of doctors went to Adiala jail to examine Imran Khan on February 15, PTI chief Dr. Gauhar Khan was also called, but Dr. Gauhar Khan refused to come. Even after that, PTI chief Gauhar Khan and Senate opposition leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai were called by PIMS Hospital in Islamabad and informed about Imran Khan’s condition and a 45-minute conversation was held with Imran Khan’s doctors, in which Imran Khan’s doctors described the treatment as very good.

Khan will be shifted to the hospital only on the advice of doctors.

On the demand of PTI and Imran Khan’s family to shift Imran Khan to the hospital, Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that if the doctors advise, then they will get him admitted to the hospital for a week or two, but this will happen only on the advice of the doctors. Along with this, patting the back of his government, Naqvi said that Imran Khan’s anti-VEGF injection could have been done in jail also, but to provide a safe environment, he was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences and got the injection done.

Contradiction seen in statements of Pakistani Home Minister

Throughout her press conferences, Pakistani Home Minister Imran Khan’s sister Aalima Khanum was sometimes accused of doing politics over his health and sometimes of delay in Khan’s checkup. She also claimed that Imran Khan is being treated well, but Alima Khanum has asked the party officials not to praise the treatment, otherwise political issues will end.

Although Naqvi accused Khan’s sister of delay in checkup, but Mohsin Naqvi himself got trapped in this allegation, because according to Naqvi, because of Imran Khan’s sister, the doctor went for the checkup 3 days late. In this context, if Naqvi is to be believed, the doctors were to go to check up Imran Khan on February 12, but on February 12, there was a hearing in the Supreme Court of Pakistan, where the report of Imran Khan being able to see only 15 percent in his right eye was presented by the court-appointed amicus curiae Salman Safdar. Then the court had ordered the Pakistani government to form a team of doctors, which would go to see Imran Khan and report about his health to the Pakistani Supreme Court.

Similarly, Naqvi claimed that after the checkup of Imran Khan on February 15, the doctors of the team constituted by the government had talked to Imran Khan’s own doctors for 45 minutes, in which he had agreed to the treatment and tests, but the doctors of the team constituted by the government had informed in the health report of Imran Khan that they had talked to Imran Khan’s personal doctors only for 25 minutes. The party says that the government is not allowing it to meet Imran Khan, although the court had allowed it.

The statement said, ‘This brutal crackdown on a peaceful protest is a violation of basic human rights and the freedom of assembly in cold weather.’ The party also shared a video on Twitter, in which people were shown running from the spot and using water cannon.

PTI said, ‘Fascist activities of Punjab Police have started once again. The workers who were peacefully protesting outside Adiala Jail in extreme cold were attacked with water cannons. These cowardly actions will neither be able to suppress our voice nor reduce our morale.

In another post, PTI said, ‘His family was put on strike as they were not allowed to meet him. Using water cannon against peaceful protests is not only a brazen violation of Imran Khan’s prisoner rights, but also a direct attack on the constitutional rights of the people who gathered to protest the government’s atrocities.

PTI has appealed to the International Human Rights Organization to intervene in the matter. According to local media reports, Imran Khan’s sister Alima Khan and PTI members started protesting outside Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail on Tuesday. Alima Khan told that Imran Khan has not been allowed to meet his personal doctor for the last 14 months.

The news of the death of former Prime Minister of Pakistan and head of Tehreek-e-Insaf Party (PTI) Imran Khan has created a stir in Pakistan. The petition refers to the March 24 order of the Islamabad High Court, in which the court had given permission to meet Imran Khan twice a week. Imran Khan is lodged in Adiyal jail since August 2023. It has been said in the petition that the orders of the court have been deliberately not followed, due to which a request is made to initiate contempt proceedings. It specifically mentions not being allowed to meet Imran Khan.

The petition said that despite the instructions to allow meetings on Tuesday and Thursday, the defendants did not follow it nor implement it. The petition also states that Alima has been extremely concerned about her brother’s well-being, legal rights and humane treatment since he went to jail.

Those named in the petition include Adiyal Jail Superintendent Abdul Ghafoor Anjum, Officer-in-charge of Sadar Beroni police station Raja Aijaz Azim, Federal Home Secretary Captain (retd) Mohammad Khurram Aga and Punjab Home Department Secretary Noorul Amin. Apart from this, if he did not meet the Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court, Afridi said that his party will not allow the Parliament session to continue.

Duniya News TV quoted Afridi as saying, ‘We got a message from the Chief Justice that he cannot meet us. We have decided that neither the National Assembly nor the Senate session will be allowed to continue today.

Serious allegations against Imran Khan about Toshkhana case

Imran Khan is accused of illegally buying and selling gifts kept in a government department named Toshkhana. In Toshkhana, gifts are given to Prime Ministers, Presidents, Ministers, MPs and other government officials.
