Amanpreet Singh Gill Dies: Former Punjab cricketer Amanpreet Singh Gill has died in Chandigarh at the age of 36. There is a wave of sadness in the domestic cricket world due to his demise. He was a medium pacer. Gill had shared the dressing room with many of India’s biggest cricketers and was considered a dedicated and humble player of Punjab cricket.

Gill played six first class matches for Punjab in his career. He was also a part of Kings XI Punjab in the first edition of the Indian Premier League. Even after his retirement from the game, he remained associated with cricket and was working as a member of the Punjab Senior Selection Committee.

The Punjab Cricket Association issued an official statement condoling his demise and remembering his long contribution to Punjab cricket.

The Punjab Cricket Association said Gill had served Punjab cricket with ‘dedication and passion’ and had represented India Under-19, the Punjab team and Kings XI Punjab.

Expressing its condolences to his family and loved ones, the organization said that may God give them strength in this hour of grief. According to the information, his last rites will be performed at Manimajra crematorium in Chandigarh.

Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh also paid tribute to his former teammate and friend. Yuvraj Singh shared an emotional message on social media, describing Gill as a ‘quiet and hard-working cricketer’ who loved the game very much.

Yuvraj Singh said that he had shared the dressing room with Gill in his early cricket career and their memories will always remain with him. He expressed condolences to the family and prayed for the peace of Gill’s soul.
