A court in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh has issued a non-bailable warrant against Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel in a 2017 program dispute case. Now the actress has broken her silence on this. While reacting to these news on Instagram Stories, Ameesha said that the matter is old and resolved.

I want to inform everyone that this is a very old case which dates back many years, in which Pawan Verma had signed the settlement deed and received the entire agreed amount. Despite this, it seems that he has initiated the proceedings by making false allegations. My lawyer will file a case against this person to expose his lies.” “We are initiating appropriate criminal proceedings for fraud, whereas I want to concentrate on my work and ignore those who create drama under false pretenses to attract attention.”

This development has come to light after a Moradabad court took cognizance of a complaint related to the booking of a wedding event held in 2017. According to the details of the case, event organizer Pawan Verma alleged that Ameesha was contracted to perform at a wedding on November 16, 2017, for which an advance payment of Rs 14.50 lakh was made. Arrangements for his stay in a hotel located on Delhi Road in Moradabad had reportedly been completed. It has been said in the complaint that the actress did not reach the city on the scheduled date. It is further alleged that a nominal refund was made after subsequent negotiations.

According to reports, Rs 10 lakh was returned in cash, while a check worth Rs 4.50 lakh reportedly bounced, forcing the organizer to resort to legal action.

Court proceedings and defense stance
After the complaint was filed, the court issued several summons to Ameesha to appear. Due to his absence during the proceedings, a non-bailable warrant was issued to ensure his arrest. However, his legal team says that the dispute was resolved years ago through an official agreement and the agreed amount was paid in full. The defense has described this new action as an attempt to reopen a closed case and has indicated that appropriate legal steps will be taken to refute the allegations. Now this matter will proceed in the court, where both the parties will give their arguments.
