US President Donald Trump has praised Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Describing both the leaders as strong, Trump said that they cannot be played with. In an interview given to CBS, the US President has held former US President Joe Biden responsible for the Ukraine war.

When Donald Trump was asked which of the two leaders was more difficult to deal with, the US President replied, ‘Both are tough. Both are smart. Both are very strong leaders. These people cannot be messed with. You have to take these people very seriously. They won’t walk around saying oh, isn’t it a beautiful day? Look how beautiful it is. The sun is shining, it’s so nice. These are serious people. These people are tough, smart leaders.

Biden responsible for Ukraine war: Trump

Responding to a question on the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Trump blamed Biden for what he called a war that would never have happened under his administration. “I have inherited a country where Putin thinks he is winning,” the Republican leader told CBS News. This was a war that would never have happened if I had been President. He (Putin) had also said this. This was a war that would never have happened had Joe Biden been president.

How are your relations with Jinping? Trump gave this answer

When pressed about his past relations with Xi Jinping, Trump displayed caution as well as familiarity. He said, ‘We have very good relations and always have. He is a powerful person, a strong human being and a very powerful leader. Although he acknowledged the tensions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, he stressed that his relationship with the Chinese leader remains as good as it can be on both sides.

What did Trump say on the tariffs imposed on China?

When Trump was asked about the tariffs, he described his stance as strategic and temporary. The US President said, ‘It was a shock because I was taking a lot of money from China. We were performing very well against China and suddenly they said that we have to retaliate. They have rare earth minerals, which they have been accumulating for 25-30 years.

Last week, Trump announced a plan to cut tariffs on Chinese goods by 10 percent, which will reduce the tariff from 57 percent to 47 percent. He had described the meeting held in South Korea with Chinese President Jinping as a very constructive conversation.

Due to import of crude oil and gas from Russia, US President Donald Trump has imposed a 50 percent tariff on India. In such a situation, after imposing tariffs on India, the question is being raised repeatedly whether now President Trump will put additional tariffs on China. But Trump has not yet taken any decision regarding additional tariffs regarding the purchase of oil and gas from Russia on China. At the same time, Vice President J.K. D. Vance said that several aspects of Beijing and Washington’s relationship are different from the relationship with China-Russia.

India will be implemented after two weeks after two weeks

The US had first implemented a tariff of 25 percent on India for the purchase of Russian oil, but in a few days, Trump announced to impose an additional 25 percent tariff of 25 % on India. Due to which Trump’s total tariff on India became 50 percent. The 50 percent tariff imposed by Trump on India is the highest in the tariff imposed on any other partner country in the world. At the same time, the additional 25 percent tariff imposed on India by Trump will be applicable from 27 August 2025 after two weeks.

Relations between China and America quite complex- Vice President

However, in an interview with Fox News Sunday, US Vice President J.K. D. Vance has given a statement regarding imposing additional tariffs on China. During the interview, when Vice President Vance was asked whether President Donald Trump would apply additional tariffs on China like India on the import of Russian oil. Responding to this, Vice President Vance insisted that the relations between America and China are quite complex.

He said, “President Trump has said that he is thinking about it right now, but he has not taken any concrete decision on it yet. It is clear that the issue of China is a bit complicated, because our relations with China and many other things also affect that which has no relation with Russia.” However, Trump has implemented an additional tariff of 30 percent in the form of initial tariffs on China.

Us china tensions: A recent report by American intelligence agencies termed China as ‘the most wide and strong military threat’ for the US national security. According to the report, China also remains the most active and continuous ‘cyber threat’ for the US government, private sector and important infrastructure networks. This report was published under the ‘Year 2025 Annual Danger Assessment (ATA)’ released on Tuesday (March 25).

Apart from China, in the report, Russia, Iran and North Korea have also been described as a major threat to the US and its global interests. Along with this, India has been listed with China as the primary source of the basic chemicals and bullet making equipment with China. According to the report, Russia sees Ukraine war as ‘a pseudo -struggle with the West’ which introduces new challenges to the US.

China becomes the biggest challenge for America

The report said that China has emerged as the most capable country in damaging American interests globally. However, China is trying to maintain its economic and diplomatic image in a more active manner than Russia, Iran and North Korea. Despite this, his military and technical abilities remain a matter of serious concern for the US.

China’s cyber strength threat to America

According to intelligence report, China has demonstrated its tremendous cyber abilities that are capable of weakening American infrastructure. If a situation of conflict arises between the US and China, then Beijing can make full use of these capabilities.

Shakti demonstration through military modernization
According to the report, China is constantly strengthening its traditional military strength as well as strategic abilities. The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is creating a joint force that can prevent America’s intervention during regional disputes and demonstrate its power globally.

China is making a strategy against America in the Pacific region

The report also reported that China is developing a counter -strategy against the US and its associate military operations in the Pacific region under its military modernization. PLA has the ability to attack American regions such as Guam, Hawaii and Alaska with long distance traditional weapons. This clearly shows that China is preparing to challenge America’s global influence by increasing its military power.
