The US Justice Department has again made public a photograph of President Donald Trump that was removed from the database of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. The department says that after review it became clear that none of Epstein’s victims were present in the photo, so it has been re-uploaded without any changes.

This picture is of a desk, in whose open drawer a photo of Donald Trump is seen. In the photo, Trump is seen with some women. The Southern District Office of New York had marked this photo for review keeping in mind the safety of potential victims.

Deputy Attorney General’s statement
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanch had previously said that the decision to remove the photo was made out of concern for the women in the photo. He said in NBC’s program Meet the Press with Kristen Welker, ‘This has nothing to do with President Trump.’

Thousands of documents related to Epstein released
The Justice Department on Friday made public thousands of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein was a convicted sex offender who committed suicide in prison in 2019. However, the department is facing criticism, including from some Republican leaders, for heavy redactions and very little mention of Trump in these documents.

Democrats demanded investigation
Democratic Party House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said in an interview with ABC News that there should be a “full and impartial investigation into why the disclosure of documents did not meet the requirements of the law.”
