On Thursday i.e. 11th June, a bad news came from the Gulf of Oman. The news is that three crew members of the MT Stabilo ship on which America had launched a missile attack on June 9 have died. All three were missing after the US Navy attack. The Indian government has taken a tough stance regarding these attacks. India’s Foreign Ministry has summoned senior officials of the US Embassy in the capital Delhi and lodged its objection regarding the incident. One of the three Indians killed in the attacks was identified as Aditya Sharma, 23, of Himachal Pradesh, who was serving as a deck cadet on the ship MT Stabilo. The remaining two were identified as engineer P Suresh and engine fitter Shivnand Chaurasia. Shipping and Ports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal himself confirmed the death of the three Indians and expressed grief over the incident. India has lodged an objection with America because the US Central Command i.e. CENTCOM took responsibility for the attack on this ship and released drone footage.

On June 8, the US attacked another ship, MT Mariveux.

On Monday, June 8, America also attacked another ship MT MARIVEX. America claimed that this ship flying the flag of Palau country was banned. Despite that, it was operating at Masirah Port in Oman without permission. There were 24 Indian crew members present on this ship and everyone was rescued safely by the Coast Guard of Oman. Indian Coast Guard had made necessary coordination with the Government of Oman for this rescue operation.

The whole country had not yet recovered from the incident of MT Stabilo when the news of attack on another ship MT Jalveer near Shinas Port in Oman came to light. This Guyana flagged ship was going to Shinas from Digi Port in Maharashtra. Indian crew was present on this also. After the attack, the captain of the ship issued an SOS message pleading for help. A video of help also surfaced, in which the captain of the ship confirmed that all the crew members were safe.

According to the information, after the attack there was a fire in the engine room of this ship. A video of a ship emitting smoke in the sea also surfaced. However, it is not clear whether the attack was carried out by Iran or America. Because there is a large deployment of the US Navy in the Gulf of Oman and a blockade has been imposed for all the ships passing through here. In such a situation, the ships passing through here have to take permission from the US Navy. Last month, Iran had also declared the Strait of Hormuz as well as the Gulf of Oman as its surveillance area and released a new map. Iran had required any ship passing through Hormuz to take permission from the IRGC.

G-7 summit is going to be held in France

These attacks have taken place at a time when the summit of G-7, a group of developed countries of the world, is going to be held in France on 16 and 17 June next week. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to participate in this meeting. Apart from this, US President Donald Trump will also participate. But no official information has been revealed yet regarding their meeting on the sidelines of the conference. If the meeting happens, this will be the first meeting between Modi and Trump after Operation Sindoor. After Operation Sindoor, there was a great strain in the relations between India and America. Due to this, the trade deal between India and America has also not reached any conclusion. The approval of Trump’s friend and world’s richest businessman Elon Musk’s Starlink is also stuck in limbo. Even after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s visit to India last month, relations between the two countries have not been completely back on track. In such a situation, the American attack on Indian ships has increased the rift in the relations between the two countries.
