From Tirupattur Assembly seat, TVK candidate Seenivasa Sethupathi R got 83375 votes while DMK candidate got 83374 votes.

Anand Mahindra posted on X and wrote, ‘The results of the recent state elections have been shocking. The most memorable thing for me in this election was Tirupattur Assembly. In this one constituency of Tamil Nadu, more than 1,66,000 votes were cast between the two main candidates. The surprising thing is that the decision of victory or defeat and history was changed by just one vote. This picture should be shown in every school in the country and the world. So that every child can understand that when they grow up, the greatest power they will have is the power of ‘one’. The power of their one vote.

The results of the recent state elections have been dramatic by any measure.

Vijay staked claim to form government

In the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Vijay’s party TVK performed brilliantly and won 108 seats. Meanwhile, on Wednesday (6 May 2026), he formally staked claim to form the government in the state. Amid speculations regarding the formation of the next government, he met Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. During this, senior leaders of TVK were also present along with Vijay, which included ‘Bussi’ Anand, KA Sengottaiyan, Aadhav Arjun and Arun Raj.

TVK’s excellent performance in Tamil Nadu elections

TVK made a spectacular election debut by winning 108 seats in the recently concluded assembly elections and became the largest party in the state. However, the party fell short of half the 118 seats required to form the government on its own. After the election results, Vijay interacted with the newly elected MLA and senior party leaders.
