CBFCs were asked to remove words like ‘Mang’, ‘Mahar’ and ‘Peshwai’ from this film. Apart from this, the scene of ‘broom -borne man’ was asked to replace ‘Savitribai’s dung throwing boys’ and ‘3000 years old slavery’ was changed to ‘many years old’. Inviting everyone to see ‘Phule’ on 25 April, the manufacturer said that he got a clean ‘U’ certificate from the censor board.

He said that CBFC itself has supported the film and said that the film should look at the younger generation as Jyotirao and Savitribai Phule started a revolution in their teenage age which is still going on.
