Former Prince Andrews Mountbatten, younger brother of Britain’s King Charles-III, has been arrested. Recently his name appeared in the American Epstein files. According to BBC report, the British police have arrested him on suspicion of misusing his position. He was arrested when he was celebrating his 66th birthday.

Last week, a complaint was lodged against Andrew with the Thames Valley Police for abuse of position. Anti-monarchy activists had filed a complaint against him after he was accused of allegedly sharing business-related documents with Epstein. Under the rules, trade ambassadors have to keep information about their travels confidential, even if they do not hold that post.

According to Thames Valley Police, they are in talks with legal representatives about launching a criminal investigation into the matter. According to the London Times report, Vince Cable, who was the President of the Board of Trade from 2010 to 2015, has accused Andrew of misusing the post of trade ambassador.

Only last year, after a long investigation, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor had also withdrawn his title of Prince. Besides, he also had to vacate his Royal Lodge. Then in the statement issued by Buckingham Palace it was made clear that the King’s brother will now be known only as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.

Thames Valley Police have opened an investigation into an offense of misconduct in public office.

A man in his sixties from Norfolk has been arrested and remains in police custody. As per national guidance we will not name the arrested man.

Name associated with Epstein files

Andrew Mountbatten’s name was also linked to the Epstein files. Many serious allegations were made against him. A woman alleges that Epstein smuggled her to Britain to have sex with Andrews Mountbatten. The woman claims that she shared sensitive information with a convicted sex offender while working as a British trade envoy. However, Andrews is continuously denying these allegations.
