‘Heroines don’t want to work with me’

At the trailer launch of Subedaar, Anil Kapoor was asked what kind of equation he has with all his heroines? On this, Anil said jokingly, ‘Nowadays no heroine is ready to work with me. What to do friend? She only wants to work with young boys. Even those who are senior are not ready to work with me. Please tell me for me. Anil had approached theater director Firoz Abbas for this. Anil said- I had thought of doing a workshop with him for the film Nayak. So I used to go to his office in Mahim and did many workshops and rehearsals. But we haven’t played anything together yet. This is on my bucket list. One day we will definitely do something, who will be bigger than a hero.

Anil Kapoor got the offer of politics

His performance in the film Nayak was very brilliant. After this he was also approached by political parties. Without naming the party, Anil Kapoor said, ‘Some discussions took place. But I had refused in the beginning itself. He was also very intelligent. So whoever offers you, she does not do it directly. Those offers come from someone. Anil said, ‘I will have to do it with great honesty and true heart. But I don’t have enough strength to give it full commitment. I give 100 percent in whatever I do. Anil Kapoor said, ‘My father was K Asif’s assistant in Mughal-e-Azam. He was a very honest, humble, kind person. K Asim Saab appreciated his honesty. So when he went to Rajasthan to shoot the war scenes which lasted for 6 months, he managed the finance and other production related work.

Anil further said, ‘Later he became Shammi Kapoor’s manager. He used to manage Shammi Kapoor’s work. After this, Geeta Bali, Shammi Kapoor’s wife, encouraged him to become a film producer. Anil said that seeing his father’s struggle had a great impact on him.

Anil said, ‘As a producer, it was very difficult for him to bring stars and heroes. Every film of his was a struggle. I saw him going through difficult times. He used to manage the dates of leading stars. That’s why I thought why don’t I become a hero myself? So that my family does not have to go out and make films.

Talking about Subedar, it will stream on Prime Videos. The film will be released on March 5. Apart from this, Anil Kapoor has two more films in his hands. He will also be seen in Alpha and King. Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh are in lead roles in Alpha. Shahrukh Khan is playing the lead role in King.
