Popular TV actress and producer Anita Kanwal is once again in the news. In a recent interview, he has made many shocking revelations about the Bollywood industry. He accused the big stars that due to their huge fees and frills, the budget of the films gets exhausted, which directly impacts the character actors.

In conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Anita Kanwal told that even in big budget films, character actors have to cut their fees. She said, ‘I am saying this as a character actress. Top actors eat up a lot of the film producer’s budget. 7 vanity vans and a staff of around 50 people… because of this there is nothing left for us. This is the reality. Even in a film with a budget of Rs 250 crore, our fees are reduced.

Anita Kanwal narrated the story
In her interview, Anita also raised questions on the huge salaries of the stars and the big frills that accompany them. He said that due to all these expenses, the share of other artists is cut, which is a bitter truth of the industry. During the conversation, Anita also shared an audition anecdote from her recent experience. He said, ‘An assistant asked me to introduce myself. I said, “I’m Anita Kanwal and I’ve been acting since most of you were even born.” After this they all became silent and I did not get that role.

Anita Kanwal further said, ‘I am continuously giving auditions, but now I feel that perhaps my work is no longer appreciated in the industry. Earlier it was said that my face has been seen a lot on TV, but it has been eight years since I worked on TV. Today, the same faces are seen again and again on OTT platforms, but they are not called overexposed. Perhaps my timing is not going well.

‘Why am I living at all?’
Anita also talked about the changes that have come in her long career. She said, ‘There was a time when I used to work in 13 shows simultaneously, but now the situation has changed a lot. It hurts a lot when people stop remembering you. Sometimes I feel ‘like self-destruction’. Why am I living at all? What contribution am I making to society or my work now? Referring to her contribution to the industry, Anita Kanwal said, ‘I have played all types of roles and have won many awards, yet I have to face this situation. After all, whose fault is it, mine or the industry?
